About three months ago, I was so desperate. My hair was damaged and I had a very bad haircut. My previous hairdresser had done a number on my hair. I went to Gene Juarez to color my roots and see what we can do with my damaged hair. This is how I got to work with Doni, the best colorist. She used some amazing products to make hair shine and feel healthy, added gloss and colored my hair. My hair NEVER looked so good. I come to the University Village location for haircuts with Abigail and she is absolutely wonderful. She always does exactly what I want and styles my long thick frizz prone-hair perfectly afterward. Highly recommend her! I have also had two massages in the spa here with Jade and she is truly amazing. I always leave feeling incredible! The spa experience here is just wonderful, between the foot soak and refreshments prior to the service, to the amenities in the changing room. I've been going here for almost two years for my hair and I love it! I see Penelope for my haircuts and she is just fantastic, always pays a lot of attention to detail and is friendly and pleasant to talk to while you get your hair done! I also feel pampered and beautiful after she cuts and styles my hair. I've also seen Olivia for a few balayage appointments and she is great with lightening and brightening! Highly recommend.

I don't know that I would recommend Gene Juárez generally. I've never had a service begin within twenty minutes of the appointment time, and my last visit the people at the front desk unapologetically told several other clients that their appointments would be twenty more minutes late, after they had already been sitting there for awhile. Go. See. Abigail!!! I have lived in the area for awhile and decided to try the U Village Gene Juarez after going to other salons and receiving lack-luster results. I booked Abigail just based on my availability, and I was amazed. She asked me all kinds of questions about how I like my hair and my hair type, and she fully delivered. She was so nice and bubbly, and knew an insane amount about hair. I am so obsessed! She gained a new loyal customer. I can't recommend her enough!!

I always book Liv for my massages... She truly is the best in Seattle and I highly recommend her. Make sure you try and book 90 minutes, that way you really relax.

As someone who has been to a lot of salons, I can honestly say that the customer service at this salon is incredible. Emma at the front desk was so welcoming and helped me figure out what I wanted even though I really had no idea. She exceeded every expectation I had going into the salon and her customer service skills and willingness to work with me until I got exactly what I needed went above and beyond. This is a review for Kate ... One day I was at U Village and decided to try my luck at Gene Juarez on the spot. Since then I've returned for several cuts with Kate and I can attest that she's skilled with scissors, razor cuts, and giving movement to my longish layered straight hair. I highly recommend her!

I've been seeing Dony for over a year and she's amazing! She is very knowledgeable about color and I completely trust her. The staff are fun and friendly and I always look forward to my visits!
