Almost every box was smashed. The movers packed two regular lamp shades in a box which arrived smashed with a large hole tore into the antique lamp shade neither are usable. Third lamp had a glass shade the movers said it would be packed separately, they did not box it the just wrapped it in paper and it arrived shattered to bits. Horrible move, doubled the price before packing, etc etc. Golden Gate Relocation (GGR). EXTRA CHARGES at every turn and the WORST pick up packers ever. They did a willy nilly job, ruined a lot of pieces with their tape.
Our movers showed up late in the day and loaded super slow and and sloppily. It took them 4 hours to load our super small house and I had 90% of it in the garage ready to load. By my estimates it should have taken the 3 gentlemen 2 hours max to load which includes wrapping our large furniture. When taking GGR on to move our things I was told it could take between 3-21 days to get our things. I assumed that meant travel time due to driver regulations, but this was not the case. Our experience with Golden Gate Relocation was nothing short of a nightmare. The lack of professionalism, care, and transparency has left us with damaged goods, unexpected costs, and a bitter taste in our mouths. I strongly advise against using their services. Showed up a day late, left trash, opened boxes, papers, packing materials and broken items in my storage units when they packed them for me. On arrival @ delivery, they lost items (i.e. cord for TV), were not on time with the delivery and were not in contact with my daughter (who was accepting delivery). I would not give a good ***rating for this very reason.
They don’t follow any of there contracts. State they only use there movers . Not true they use third party and mix your shipment with others. They lost some valuable stuff of mine and they only wanted to reimburse me ***when my losses were *****. Don’t use them they don’t honor a contract at all.
DO NOT USE THEM!!!!!!! They picked up items, said I owed ****more for added space, when delivered I was short 25 boxes and single items, space used was only 540 cubic ft not close to 801 cubic ft. Called company got run around stating they would check warehouse and get back to me I sent them the item numbers they tagged and wrote down 3 weeks later they said to continue filing claim that they couldn't find them....Charged over $***** which with what was delivered and space used should have been about *****....$about *****ove... read more
My experience with Gold Gate started off great. At first I was contacted by a sales representative by the name of Julie. She was quick, efficient, and upbeat collecting all of my information. She advised that I would have a two day window for pick-up, and a 10 day window for delivery based on the number of miles I was moving. She also advised that my providing a delivery address closer to my FADD (First Available Delivery Date) would not be a problem so long as I had a zip code. Do NOT hire this moving company for any of your moving needs! The salesperson unfortunately sold me on a service that Golden Gate Relocation was unable to deliver. The management team bordered on being predatory (demanding an extra ****) as well as actively unhelpful (screening my calls for several business days). Cancel any plans you have to go with this company, consider this a fair warning. I was in TEARS on the day of the move because they had damaged and misplaced so many of my items.
