Grindstone on the Monon is well managed and led with a focus on consistent excellence in their food and really excellent management and service. Their staff and leadership is outstanding. I know this review sounds like it was written by someone connected to the restaurant but I am only a fairly frequent diner who has a choice of a lot of great restaurants but this one is special.
Glad I made reservations! Couldn't believe how busy on a Monday too! So loud, but we were there a long time and got better after 1. Happy girl.
Great place for lunch. I love their southern fried salad.

At first visit, our birthday celebration was acknowledged by the hostess, a "new" waitress was courteous and accurate. The overall experience was outstanding.

This restaurant is one of my go to places, especially for lunch. I’ve never had a bad meal here and this last visit my service was exceptional. I recommend.

What a fabulous discovery for us on our trip to Indianapolis. The menu was a great variety of delicious food and all of it was amazing. We enjoyed the poutine, cheese curds, bruschetta and the wedge salad for our lunch. The portions were large enough to share and have leftovers to take home. Don’t miss out on dessert, too! Overall, we enjoy the restaurant. The recent menu change from pasta primavera to baked pasta was disappointing. There are already so many “comfort foods” on the menu that changing this one feels unnecessary. Everything else was great as it always is.

The service was great. Location near to where our hotel was. Food was just average. Meatloaf was burned outside and mush inside. Green beans were overcooked and cold.
