This place doesn't see pets or people just walking dollar signs. I begged for a month's extension on my cats medication because I just had to take both my cats to their regular vet and I needed to get paid again before I could bring her in. Their response? 'Go find another vet'. Devastating.

I brought my dog in for an emergency visit and was attended by Dr. Jocelyn Rodriguez Correa. Unfortunately, she was very insensitive throughout the appointment and did not show the level of care or professionalism I would expect from someone in her position. On top of that, she failed to clearly communicate that there would be additional costs involved, which left us with unexpected charges and added stress during an already difficult situation. Compassion and clear communication are just as important as medical treatment w... read more

The staff was kind, but a bit neglectful. I came in for an emergency and was seen quickly, but after the vet told me my dog was ready to go home, I went back to the waiting room and I ended up waiting over an hour after I saw the vet leave the building. I finally asked the nurses, who then immediately gave me the discharge papers and my dog. It was a long night.

Warning....Do not take your pets here! This place is a straight money grab, and nothing else! As soon as you walk in, you quickly realize how expensive the visit is about to be. This hospital is nicer and better furnished than most human hospitals, with more rooms than I've ever seen as well. The fact that there are Dyson vacuums hanging every 50 ft, 3 waiting rooms, 12 computer monitors at the front for literally 1 person, an on-sight pharmacy, shows the exorbitant price you are about to spend as soon as you step foot in th... read more

If I could give this place -100 stars, I would. We rushed our 1 year old pup to Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists because it was the closest emergency option. He had accidentally eaten beef cooked with garlic and onions, vomited, fainted, and was clearly in distress. We were scared and just wanted to get him help as fast as possible. As soon as we arrived, we were charged a $198 intake fee. After waiting about an hour and a half, they came back to us recommending x-rays, bloodwork, and a few shots, totaling around $1,300 o... read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would. Be prepared to be frightened and have a huge bill. We took our mini schnauzer there because he was vomiting and had diarrhea. I called before to ask the office visit fee and was told $166. Upon arrival they immediately ask for a $1500 deposit and then said they wanted to do X-rays which were $700. I declined the X-rays then I was told my dog needed to spend the night because he likely wouldn't make it until morning. $3,000!!! I called back and said we would pick him up becau... read more

We came in with an emergency--our dog was diagnosed by our vet with an emergency situation that required surgery. By GCVS own standards this was a tier 1 emergency but we were not seen for 3 hours despite going to the front desk several times pleading to see a doctor. Not once did anyone come out to tell us our dog was ok. So unprofessional.

Business response:

Hi Jonatha, we appreciate you taking the time to leave a review. We apologize for your extended wait time. Unfortunately, in emergency medicine, the number of clients and the severity of their pets' conditions are very unpredictable. Our wait times have been especially variable lately, as we are seeing a sharp increase in emergency cases. Again, we appreciate your review, as feedback like yours can help us set clearer expectations for client visits and wait times moving forward. If you should have any other questions about y... read more

Do not come here! Their only concern is getting your money. When you ask questions about care, they are offended. After my dog had been suffering from an infection that I suspected was a UTI, they offered to treat with antibiotics until I refused the remaining tests which were very expensive. I wanted her regular vet to do those tests, and not the hospital, which was where I took her over the holiday weekend. A complete waste of time and money and did nothing for my pet.

Business response:

Tracy, we are so sorry to hear about this negative experience at our hospital. Unfortunately, after reviewing our records and consulting with our staff, we are unable to locate your information or records in our system, based on the limited details provided in your Yelp review profile. Horrible place, get a second opinion! They are unprofessional and needs better bedside manner. The doctor is new to her career and had a terrible attitude when we asked questions about her suggested treatment. We came to seek a diagnosis when our dog was not eating. Immediately her suggestions were multiple expensive procedures totaling up to $12,000 with no logical thought process. When we tried asking questions she acted offended. We decided to get a second opinion and when we asked for our dog, she swore loudly behind... read more
