Y'all have to understand you can drop 10k and no one can guarantee your pet will make it just like in human medicine literally anything could happen. Why have animals if you can't afford an emergency they're family yes but reality is they're not a necessity it's a luxury to own fur babies. Have pet insurance! Or savings account specifically for pet emergencies.
I recently had my dog treated at GCVS. He had a pancreatic cancer removed and did very well. The Internist and surgeon (exceptional) were very professional. Our Internist had a problem getting back to us in a timely manner and the labs/ pathology take about a week so be patient. They apparently send out to multiple locations etc. The staff is professional but guarded and the warmth that was at the old location is lacking. It is laid out more like a typical hospital now not a clinic.
I took my Great Dane in for an emergency that ended up being less severe than expected. Not only did I get a refund for what procedures weren't needed, I received the most detailed & comprehensive care. The doctor was SO detailed and had my fur baby back on her way to health quickly. The staff is great, the waiting room is really nice too - which is much needed after a long night of a sick pet.
I was apprehensive when I was first referred to GCVS. My cat was Diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and radiation treatment was recommended. Luckily, I trust my Vet implicitly. I got a call from Kim in the nuclear medicine section of GCVS. She explained what my Vet and their vet Dr Z recommended for treatment and helped me understand the procedure and process. She told me she would be the one caring for him most of the time and explain the facility and the "creature" comforts if you will. When I took him in, The front desk che... read more
I love the staff and service that my rescue receives here. The prices can't be beat, and they truly care about their patients. Great communication.
First things first, yes this place is expensive. Be prepared to pay upfront to have your pet examined, and have any x-rays, tests etc. done. They do cost a lot but they were kind and attentive to my animal. The facility was very clean, staff was very professional. I went in with my cat because I was concerned his leg was broken. It cost about $700 to have his x-rays, medicine, and exam done. Sure enough it was broken. They told me they could either do surgery or amputate the leg which would cost anywhere from $4-6K. When I... read more
I brought my dog here after picking her up from another vet she was boarded at over Christmas. Within 30 mins she began coughing up thick, green phlegm and having difficulties breathing. I called gulf coast and the woman who answered the phone was an angel - so patient with my absolute lack of coherent communication. I was able to take my dog in for treatment immediately. She was put on oxygen and hospitalized for a few days. I was able to visit her and received an update from a vet at least twice a day. They answered any/al... read more
Dr. Manino spent considerable time with us explaining possible testing options and their risks. After performing a number of tests he spent time going over what he had done and the results. I knew that our visit was going to be expensive so I was not surprised at the costs. In fact, I thought it was fairly priced. Everyone at the facility was pleasant and professional. The news we got was not what I wanted to hear, but it helped me make one of the hardest decisions I'll have to make in the near future for my dog. And I feel ... read more
