As mentioned earlier, heating was on high, no cooling , we asked for a fan , took 3 hours to arrive. Had a dog as a meighbor wining until 11 pm until the owner came back, in the morning the same between 7:30 and 9 am. Service in the restaurant was poor.
Parking troubles Parking here in the winter is hazardous. They sent me out into the dark with no lights to walk the equivalent of two blocks after I found a space I wasn't sure was legit. The new manager is superb but the reality is that many of their staff members have almost no experience. It's a good hotel -- but don't be caught up in any Edgartown mystique, as the staff is untrained. Overall, the stay was "okay".
Pros: pretty area and setting Cons: an update in the rugs, rooms, bathrooms and halls Location: perfect location...nice walk into town We took our son, his wife and grandson there with us....we wanted to treat them but we were disappointed in the rooms. Less than clean for high end hotel for this room. Pros: The view and the location were excellent. The lobby staff was very helpful. Cons: Improve the cleanliness of the carpet and furniture. Have the housekeeping staff take inventory of the room on a daily basis and vacuum the carpet. Location: The hotel is ideally located in walking distance of the town. A complete let down. Pros: location Cons: Food. Poor management of staff. Location: wonderful location In brief the room that we were allocated was worn out, ground floor next to swimming pool and enterance door. The patio door was fillthy and very difficult to open. Dirty net curtains at the window. Bathroom was just clean enough, look behind the door cleaning staff! The restaurant was our greatest disapointment. Food was very poor. Disappointed I found most of the staff was not familiar with the hotel at all. I think this speaks to the fact that they were mostly college students and new to the property. When you asked a question, such as, how late is breakfast, they'd go through a chain of people to find out. This one stands out for me. There was a mini fridge in my room....empty. beautiful location but not view from room did not like the view from the room and not worth the money
Disappointing Pros: Location Cons: Lack of amenities Location: Picturesque, but dull Not the high quality resort hotel you would expect. Obvious cost cutting has taken place, cheap toiletries, no free papers, no mini bar and one restaurant closed.
The hotel was nice, but our sunset cruise was cancelled due to engine trouble on the boat and they stated they did not have another. I made reservations in the hotel restaurant early in the morning for our birthdays; I asked for a window seat and they stated they would try. Our reservations were for 8 p.m. and we arrived at 7 p.m. We sat on the front porch waiting to be called noticing a table by the window at 7 not occupied. this same table was unoccupied from 7 until 9:30.
