Moldy bathroom/run down rooms The room is def not worth the price but the view is beautiful. Bathroom was tiny, moldy and just run down.
Not worth it. Pros: location Cons: Remodel and clean Our room was in one of the "cottages" in the hotel compound, which includes the old hotel, newer "motel/hotel" sections and 4 "cottages" that look like restored older homes. The "cottage" we were in felt like an aging, has-been hotel room of an era long gone. The furniture was beaten up, carpet worn and terribly stained. This trip was a 36 year anniversary celebration My reservation was for my husbands and my 36 year anniversary. Upon arriving, we were greatwd with the staff informing us we could check in. It was approximately 1:45 pm. Check in was not usual until 4 pm. The staff informed us that there was a block of rooms for a wedding and they had just received a cancellation. Nice hotel. If you have a Tesla, this hotel has a charging station. However, the space was occupied by non-electric vehicles at various times, since there was no sign posted. The staff had no clue about it, they did not know the hotel had the charger.
Not worth the money! The website was very deceiving and the room was not as nice as the pictures portrayed. The owner was nice enough but never saw him after ck in. Furniture and all fixtures in the room were very old and not comfortable. The view out the windows was very nice. The curtains did not fit the windows and when the sun came up in the morning at 5 am, we were awake. They needed darkening shades. Bathroom very old and had no counter space to put things. Beautiful view of the harbor from the front porch! Well, the exterior of the hotel was very beautiful. The interior of the lobby was nice. Our room was nothing like the website. The room was old and dingy and had stains all over the carpet. Everything in the room was old. The view out our windows was nonexistent. There were overgrown bushes that covered both windows. Our recent stay in Edgartown Pros: It is a beautiful location within an easy walk to the center of Edgartown. The staff was extremely friendly and eager to serve. Cons: I think the problems were driven by inadequate training. There was tremendous activity and new people for the start of the busy summer season Location: Edgartown is a beautiful, upscale island town. The biking is incredible as is the sightseeing. As mentioned earlier, heating was on high, no cooling , we asked for a fan , took 3 hours to arrive. Had a dog as a meighbor wining until 11 pm until the owner came back, in the morning the same between 7:30 and 9 am. Service in the restaurant was poor.
Parking troubles Parking here in the winter is hazardous. They sent me out into the dark with no lights to walk the equivalent of two blocks after I found a space I wasn't sure was legit. The new manager is superb but the reality is that many of their staff members have almost no experience. It's a good hotel -- but don't be caught up in any Edgartown mystique, as the staff is untrained. Overall, the stay was "okay".
