A complete let down. Pros: location Cons: Food. Poor management of staff. Location: wonderful location In brief the room that we were allocated was worn out, ground floor next to swimming pool and enterance door. The patio door was fillthy and very difficult to open. Dirty net curtains at the window. Bathroom was just clean enough, look behind the door cleaning staff! The restaurant was our greatest disapointment. Food was very poor. Disappointed I found most of the staff was not familiar with the hotel at all. I think this speaks to the fact that they were mostly college students and new to the property. When you asked a question, such as, how late is breakfast, they'd go through a chain of people to find out. This one stands out for me. There was a mini fridge in my room....empty. beautiful location but not view from room did not like the view from the room and not worth the money
Disappointing Pros: Location Cons: Lack of amenities Location: Picturesque, but dull Not the high quality resort hotel you would expect. Obvious cost cutting has taken place, cheap toiletries, no free papers, no mini bar and one restaurant closed.
The hotel was nice, but our sunset cruise was cancelled due to engine trouble on the boat and they stated they did not have another. I made reservations in the hotel restaurant early in the morning for our birthdays; I asked for a window seat and they stated they would try. All Flash and poorly run Pros: Location and view Cons: Service. Attitude of front desk staff and management. Scruffy rooms, Cleaning, In fact everything but the view. Hotel seems to be geared towards corporate events and weddings. Staff are not very well trained. Breakfast coffee served in a mug with loose handle. Beautiful Hotel. Mediocre Room. Dirty Bathroom. I stayed in Room #14 at the Harbor View Hotel to celebrate an anniversary weekend. I'll start with the positives. First, I liked the fact that our room was large and had a DVD player. The bed and pillows were comfortable. Harbor View was a big disappoinment! Perhaps if you are in the main building of the hotel you will have a wonderful experience, but that was not to be for me. When my daughter and I saw the hotel from the street we were thrilled. It is positioned at the the point facing the water and the lighthouse and is lovely. Don't stay here!!! Location was too far from Edgartown commercial center and attractions. Also, very unacceptable service. I asked to be seated for Breakfast. They were not accommodating and said that I couldn't get a reservation to get Breakfast in my own hotel. Not even for a quick meal, which I find ridiculous given how much the hotel cost.
