Great staff and location Pros: The location is ideal, and the staff were exceptionally polite and helpful. Cons: Though the carpet and hallways could use a little freshening up, the rooms were clean, spacious, and very comfortable with good amenities.
Retreat Pros: Cleaniness and friendly staff. Cons: Since it was the off season; the hotel could have provided a gift bag with things to do on the island. Also, an afternoon tea would be great! Location: If you have a car you can get to the other inlets nearby...Oaks Bluff, Menemsha, Aquinna, etc. However, the shops in town was great! The hotel was awesome! Traveling the east coast First time ion the island. The hotel has a good location and is within walking distance to the town. Nice leisurely 10 min walk. Loved the ambiance of the area and the hotel. Sat on the front porch and read while enjoying a glass of wine and the view. Really nice. the pool was much larger than we had thought although we didn't use it since we were ther in October. The only word of warning I can give id book your ferry in advance.. We were stuck for many hours trying to get back because of the seasona... read more
Excellent service. The consierge deserves special praise for her helpful suggestions and recommendations. She was "spot on". The rooms in the front hotel are the best as they have a water view. No view of the water from the other locations
Beautiful hotel in a beautiful town.
Great location but pricey! Our room was comfortable and spacious. Upkeep of the outside buildings is laking however. The main hotel was beautiful and has a fantastic view from the porch. Can walk to town and great restaurants from hotel. Very friendly staff.
Elegant old style Edgartown waterfront hotel Enjoyed our stay in a standard king room with balcony off the outdoor pool.Hotel is large w/ wide variety of room choices.Main building has dining room and wonderful veranda overlooking lighthouse w/ rocking chairs. Breakfast in main dining room is a must...best time to appreciate the view.
