Lovely but very quiet at this time of year! We chose to visit in mid February and unfortunately the island is pretty much shut down. However it was a lovely setting and the room was beautiful. Our only negative was that the restaurant stopped serving at nine p.m. and we were not able to get a room on the first floor in either the main house or other wings despite the very low occupancy rate. Will go back in season Top notch accomodations...my only disappointment would be that main dining room is closed for lunch and dinner dining through May...bar/pub is open all year long though...food was very good there but pub atmosphere..

Ideal place for Thanksgiving What an ideal place for Thanksgiving. The warmth of the room, the public areas and all members of the staff make for a wonderful getaway for the holiday. This will soon become an annual event for us.
Not close to all sights? It's a island. Make sure people understand the exclusiveness of this area.
Best hotel experience in Martha's Vineyard Simply put, the Harbor View staff promoted the BEST hotel experience of my life. From the moment I stepped into the main lobby my wife and I felt welcome, cared for, and respected. The rooms are very comfortable and well-appointed, far superior when compared to big-chain hotels. Outstanding Hotel in a Great Location The hotel actually exceeded my expectations. First of all, the pix on their web site don't do it justice. It's on the end of one way Water Street and was extemely quiet, yet walking distance to the best lighthouse in Martha's Vineyard, the pristine tidal marshes, and downtown Edgartown. Beautiful MV hotel for great value. Prime location in Edgartwon Very clean elegant hotel in prime Edgartown location. Very shabby chic New Englad decor, wonder bar and restaurant with great local specialties.
