I live near Haven and only go there once in a while. I don't understand why its always crowded. Maybe because there is no where else like it in the area. I just can't get that excited about the food. It's good, but nothing to rave about. 2 servers tried to pull our plates when we were still eating. Don't like to be rushed.
After having enjoyed Haven for several years, we have been disappointed by our last two visits. Menu selection and food preparation have deteriorated. Too many dishes have a multiplicity of ingredients and sauces that detract from the taste rather than enhancing it. Prices have risen to a level that is excessive relative to what is offered. All of this is unfortunate, since the area immediately around Haven has little to offer in fine dining.
We went to haven for brunch. We had been there for dinner and liked it. The brunch was really a mistake, extremely overpriced for what you get and what you get is really not that great. The eggs Benedict with Canadian ham had so much salt they were almost not edible. The biscuit was a home made biscuit with a sausage pattie and topped with scrambled egg. Add 3 extremely thin slices of melon and that was your whole plate. Greasy and really tasteless. We added a side of "hash-brown" and we got a half full small plate of potato... read more
We tried the new Sunday brunch on Mother's Day. The ambiance of the patio was idyllic. The wait staff excellent. Unfortunately the food took a long time to come out, as did the juice and hot tea. The food delay REALLY surprised me as we were one of the first tables to be seated. We loved that it was not a 'buffet style' brunch. It is fine white linen dining from the menu. I had the Dresden Frittata, which was perfectly cooked but arrived ten minutes after my family were served. The eggs Benedict appeared like the eggs were '... read more
food was decent, but the menu seemed to leave off a few details, so i was expecting a meal with no pork products, and got half a plate of sausage. service was really good (except I'm reasonably confident my drink wasn't made with the Hangar One Raspberry that I ordered, I know what Stoli Razberry tastes like and that's why I don't order it) and the space is very nice. small portion sizes for the price for a brunch menu.
Went for brunch, less than memorable. Wouldn't go back for brunch, maybe will try dinner. Food was over priced for what you got. Scrambled eggs on a biscuit for $10 was way too expensive.
Food was excellent. Love the Sunday night wine special. Service on this visit was below the level we've previously experienced here. We had the impression that our server had too many tables to take care of.
very disapointed with my food and so were my guests. Second time we tried this spot but second time we were not impressed with the food.
Very disappointing. We live in the 'hood and have been to Haven quite a few times. This experience was not up to their usual standards. We received very mediocre service even though the restaurant was nearly empty. Our food was overcooked. We took family there for a special evening and were embarrassed since we had told them before the visit that Haven was great. They definitely did not have their act together that night.
