We chose to sit inside and though we had a nice table against a barrier wooden wall, still too noisy. Server was cordial but eratic. Either we were an afterthought or a distraction. We commented her one remark underscored the mediocrity we were in for vis a vis the cuisine. Despite the menu highlighting their pricey steaks, she vehemently denied the steaks were a heavy favorite. We have dined here many times, but I have never experienced such poor service as we did this past time. Inattentive server with major attitude - as if he were doing us a favor. He even lied when asked about lack of spacing between courses. Very uncomfortable dining experience.
We recently went to Haven for Mother's day brunch and have been many times before. I was a little dissappointed that they had a preset menu as some of our favorite items were not included. The menu was $29.00 per person which at the end we felt was WAY overpriced for what you got. We will go back but this was VERY overpriced for brunch and the experience. For four people we spend $180.00 with a few mimosas thrown in.
I went to this restaurant on a Sat night. The service was fair re: table service, but overall I did not think the staff behaved at the caliber that the menu prices dictated. There was a bunch of broken glass all around our outdoor table which we noticed once we sat down but we didnt want to get up and move. Then a member of the wait staff started making a ton of noise on the patio with a table that was broken (?) - metal tables on concrete=not nice dining noise. Portions ridiculously small. Completely rushed out from the moment we sat down for brunch. Literally after our appetizer we were being asked if we wanted desserts and if we needed to go boxes. Nice atmosphere. Owner was very nice but portions were minute and diet servings. With a table of 5, when ordered a appetizer of biscuits, we were given 3 petite biscuits. Good food and service. Too loud, therefore will only return when we can sit outside.
Rather disappointed in the menu. Extremely southern. Things like grits and collard greens don't belong on a menu this expensive. Too many heavy sauces, not very healthy. Their staff could use beter attire. Blue jeans are not proper attire for the wait staff of an "upscale" restaurant.
First, I love Haven. We have been dining there for many years and have had nothing but great things to say about the food, wine and decor. Lately, we have been attending their Sunday brunch - probably about 4 times in the last 2 months. Each time has been fantastic! However,yesterday I was quite surprised to find that the ham in the Eggs Benedict was so tough I could not only cut it but it was impossible to chew and the flavor of the whole dish was off.
