I have eaten at Haven before and was looking forward to Sunday Brunch. The waiter was nice but seemed to have too many tables. However the restaurant was not busy. The problem was he let everyone know he was having trouble handling his tables. The food was OK. My wife had the crab cake which looked and tasted great. Although she said it was cold and waiting to be picked up for 10 minutes. My fritatta was fine just boring. Will try other brunches before returning.
This was my first visit to the Haven and I was completely impressed. We went for brunch and the Shrimp & Grits are out of this world. Best in town. I will definitely be back.
The food is excellent but has gotten really expensive and no longer a good value. When salads reach $10 and above, I am priced out, and most were $12 and up. If you aren't worried about the budget, the food is wonderful and service is excellent.
food was good but too salty. others at the table had same experience.
We are Haven loyalists. Have been going for years, through the ups.. a period of not so good... then back up. The last few years have been consistently good. But, there wine list doesn't seem as good as in years past, and the prices have gone up quite a bit. I was really surprised this past Thursday when we were there. A wine we buy retail for $19 a bottle was $60 at Haven. That's ridiculous. I'm used to seeing wine in restaurants at double what I pay in the stores, but not triple!!! Went there on a week night with my elderly mom and her friend and we were noticibly rushed out of the restaurant because we didn't order wine. We had a reservation and were even early but it was obvious they overbooked. We had only been there for an hour and ordered apps, entree,desserts. The managers behavior was deplorable and I felt our table was discriminated due to the two 85 year olds. The manager brought the check before our dessert and then hovered over table. very noisy and table are very close together. Server had to many tables to serve
Great yellow tomato gazpacho and good salads. But the hamburger on hamburger night that was ordered medium rare was very well done, unfortunately.
The restaurant was so loud that we actually left and did not dine. The table we were seated at was small and closely placed between two larger tables of people. We could not carry on a conversation without yelling at each other. Unfortunately, this was not the ambience we were looking for.
