Just a little too cramped for the price. With a bottle of wine, I would say this restaurant is overpriced. The dining room is very nice but the tables are cramped. For the money, I would go somewhere else where I can have some small degree of privacy with my dinner companion.
Vegetarian choices are very limited. The trout was outstanding. The tenderloin was not cooked to my specification of medium rare. There was no pink. Waiter was knowledgeable and helpful, but not particularly outgoing or warm.
The food was outstanding. I did feel rushed - courses were delivered before we had a chance to finish the previous course. I understand needing a certain volume of customers to make a profit, but our three courses with wine came to $180 with tip, and I felt we were rushed through in just barely over an hour. That expense should "buy" the table for a couple of hours at a relaxed pace. They also need to add some red wines that are not from the West Coast.
Food was good and inventive. However, I thought this was a little overpriced. Prefer Valenza instead.
I'd been to Haven before, but this was the first time for my husband. The vibe and feel is great, but we did not have a good experience. The food was marginal at best. My fish was very, very salty (and I love salt, so this is unusual for me), but I tried to eat the veggies separate, and they weren't salty. Our service was terrible! We had to keep flagging our waiter down to inquire about things we had already asked for or ordered. Three out of seven entrees came out wrong and had to be sent back. I have gone to Haven before and had better experiences, but I've also had other bad ones as well. I was not impressed this time.
I had the fried green tomatoe appetizer which was over battered and covered in too much sauce. I also had the mussels. Maybe I should say a few mussels. They were tiny and there were several empty shells. The accompanying bread was burnt. The service was a bit on the arrogant side. I won't be going back anytime soon.
Dined indoors, food was ordinary, friends ice cream desert was melted when served, this was worst experience of several visits, inconsistend? Extremely noisy!
We have been several times and had fantastic experiences, and were surprised to see how much Haven has jacked up their prices. The server was impersonal and looked annoyed to be doing his job. We were celebrating a very special occasion as I had told them, and cannot say it was at all worth the new prices they have set. What happened Haven?
