It was location that dictated it. My father was her care giver and when he had a stroke we needed a place closest to my sister. The staff is definitely keeping my mother engaged and safe. That's so important to us! Facebook page is amazing too! I live in NJ and I love to see my mom so engaged!

My overall view is limited because I'm not here, but she does tell me that she is bored that the staff is not engaging and she feels like she is in a prison. I realize she wants to be home, but that is not possible so a lot of this may be because she just wants to be home. The facility is very clean. Her separate room is not so clean. A few of the staff members are friendly however, as far as I can see none of them really engage with her they say hello and then sit on the side. I'm considering moving my mother from Georgia to be closer to family and decided to tour a few places. I was pleasantly surprised by Pacifica and the staff, small cottages with a very home-like feel and an energetic activity leader who was loading residents in the bus to go to Walmart. I felt very welcomed during the tour and feel comfortable sharing Pacifica with my siblings so we can make the best decision for our declining mother.

If your loved one enjoys the outdoors or a garden setting, but needs a safe environment that keeps them from wandering away, Pacifica can provide that. The facility lets them have independent access to their rooms or to freely go outside as they wish. Also, the meals are good! The facility is on one floor, avoiding a possible fall from a balcony as could possibly happen at one that is multi-level, or confusion of use of elevators.

Cozy cottage format w/ each one housing 10 residents. Smaller community, more personal care. Friendly staff, very helpful.
