Communication was poor no one to answer the phone after 5 pm Personal caregivers were negative at times and very demeaning . I would never use the West Allis Heritage for myself or any relative or friend again.
Unfortunately, I could not recommend HERITAGE West Allis Memory Care to other families. While the facility is beautiful (very homey, wide hallways, warm wood-tone doors, charming decor in common areas, lovely outside patio), looks can be deceiving.At a minimum, I would expect that Mom be dressed in the morning; PJs on at night; Depends always dry; showers once a week; apartment smells clean. Worse assisted living place ever! My parents have been there for 6 months and we have finally had enough! We pay so much and nothing ever gets done! My mom is on a puree diet and she hates the food. So instead of finding ways to feed her other things or use a food processor they give her oatmeal, 3 times a day EVERYDAY!! We tell them stop with the oatmeal and they don't! If you complain about anything nothing happens. They never come into their room and my mom takes care of my dad! It's too much for her but it never changes!... read more

We think Heritage West Allis is a great place and the memory care facility is doing a great job for our cousin. However, trying to communicate with staff is next to impossible. I've left six or eight messages asking them to return a call and they have never responded. The only way is to keep calling and emailing and you finally get through. It's not a pleasant task.

The aides and help are first rate, hard working and caring. Almost to a person I would rate them a solid 5 stars. The management is another story, I would give them 1 star. I feel they are uncaring, cold, and calculating.
Location close to Hospital and main fare to stores, restaurants, doctors etc., on busy street in West Allis. I did like the layout of building with mission style design and very clean appearance. My one complaint from the busy street in front is the available apartment that was vacant on the backside of building. There is a railroad track, while viewing the apartment a train was going pass.
