I was taking all of my dogs to Hinsdale Animal Hospital for a while, beginning a few years ago when Dr. Richardson and Dr. Kramer were still part of the practice. They are no longer there. I will absolutely not take any my dogs to this veterinary practice again. I took my dog in for what appeared to be a simple anal gland infection. He was diagnosed as having cancer and an enlarged prostate. I called to speak with a vet concerning my diabetic cat and was told that the doctor would call back in a few hours. 24 hours later I still received no call and called back again to be told that the doctor would call me back in one hour. Time will tell. Not happy with the lack of concern.
Extremely disappointed in the care my dog received. On more than one occasion they have misdiagnosed my dogs condition. Nice doctors but in my opinion they are more interested in generating income for the corporately owned parent company.
While I am not familiar with the veterinary services offered here, I can speak from experience that their adoption services are problematic. First, they put on both their website and on petfinder that the rescue kittens were all raised in a "loving foster home." I call the shelter to corroborate the information found online, and the person on the other end confirms that yes, the two-month-old kittens have been in foster care. DO NOT HAVE DR. ASHMALA PERFORM YOUR CAT'S DECLAW SURGERY! Gosh, where do I begin? I had my cat declawed here, and ~2 months post-surgery, he's still in pain! He's not weight bearing on one of his paws, he limps when he walks, he sits up on his back feet/bottom half, his front legs buckle when he goes to eat or drink from his bowls, shall I continue? I had been taking my Yellow Lab Max to this place since he was a puppy of 4 months. At the time it was owned by an individual I had known. Since then it is owned by a vet who is creating his own chain of Vet Hospitals. I began to notice in the past couple years that there was a revolving door of Drs. and office staff. I bought Max in last year for his exam and I was told that he needed to have a cracked molar removed. We have been taking our pets here for nearly 15 years. This place used to be a great place with really good staff. It was bought out a few years ago, and it has not been the great place it was since. The staff is unprofessional and in some cases just extremely rude. DO NOT BRING YOUR PETS HERE. I would give them 0 stars if I could. UNETHICAL, UNETHICAL, UNETHICAL. I had just adopted my dog and brought him to see Dr. Ashmalla. She recommended a dental cleaning. Dr. Buchanan and Dr. Ashamalla have always been wonderful and my visits have been good. However, I never saw them on my latest appt. With the dog flu in the news, I expected some type of precautionary measures. The waiting room was filthy and stressful. Too many dogs/cats in the schedule and no room to put them.
