Stay away...This place is only out for your money.. they determined my dog needs multiple meds and they charge 5x what the internet companies charge... they won't issue a prescription for the customer to get the cheaper price which locks you into their price Theyre all about the money and not the service.. Take your pet somewhere his health comes before the money
They also misdiagnosed my dog completely. As we were debating whether to euthanize our dog, they bring up the bill. Agree with all the comments - please do not take your dog to the "vets" here! I hope everyone reads this before going in and I beg you to find another vet.
We brought our dog in because she was vomiting a lot. They gave her blood tests and said she had kidney failure. The doctor gave her Gabapentin. We took her home and her back legs were paralyzed! The doctor said it would wear off. She suggested that she needed her kidneys flushed out and would have to stay in the hospital. We choose Hinsdale's sister hospital because it was 24 hour care. Called Tuesday 12/2 morning to have the X-rays and echo results we paid $800 to get done sent to me so that I could show my new vet. Amy said she would get those emailed to me, still haven't received an email. Oh yeah my dog also just passed. Thanks for nothing.
Worst veterinary clinic around, all I can say is they are a bunch of thieves trying to get every penny they can from you. Not only are they expensive to begin with but they will shove treatment and medication down your throat. I had to tell them 3 times that I don't want to buy medication from them because it was almost 3 times more expensive than I can get online. If there was a zero star option that would be the option. The reviews are more than accurate describing how the head vet is extremely rude and talks down to the customers. It all starts from the top down and it is obvious at the comments and rating that this place will hopefully be put on the news and shut down. My main concern is that what type of sociopaths become a vet when they don't care about animals and their families. I had one of the worst experiences of my life here and I would advise anyone who would listen to NOT GO HERE. We had an elderly cat who was having issues with her mouth and we brought her in and the recommended we put he under to clean her teeth. We didn't do that bc I know it's very risky to put an elderly cat under. Still this visit was $250 fast forward two weeks, something is obviously still wrong with her mouth. I do not recommend taking your furry family member to Hinsdale Animal Hospital at all!! I was in a panic and took my dog there due to her having an issue with her eye. They did not do a full exam, there was no check of the ears, mouth, belly area, listening to her heart or a temperature taken! I've never been in a vets office or heard of not having an exam while in the exam room. They treated her for an issue that is not common in older dogs at all! Well, after 20 years of bringing my dogs here today was it. The young female vet there was extremely rude instead of being the caring, kind, resourceful vet I am used to speaking with there. When I got there with my two dogs for a check up she told the receptionist to tell me she didn't need to see me and to just take the dogs to the back for their shots.
