    You may waste 200 dollars or more, merely trying figure out if alternative cartridges work or not. And afterall, you'll find that high yield cartridges are NOT worth the squeeze. It's an utter waste of money, considering if you wish to print high volumes of paper for a 100 bucks a cartridge. Brother is becoming the next HP of scamming people out of superficial prestige of quality. Make sure you do your research if you plan on printing immensely high yields of text. DO. YOUR. RESEARCH.     This is all you need for home or small office. This is not a color printer.

    It was cheaper than dirt for a reason. Wouldn't connect to wireless router, wouldn't AirPrint from any iPad, or print anything. It did turn on. Model isn't even listed on the Brother web site. No customer support. No online Owner Reference Guide available. Best Buy said just bring back for a refund. So I wasted a whole day on this piece of junk. I will never purchase another Brother product again.

    This printer prints great! Every time it prints something it shuts my computer down! Bought it Saturday afternoon. Messed with it all day Sunday. Taking it back Monday! I told the sales person I didn't want problems. Best Buy started giving me crap on the phone. The salesman showed me on computer then when we got to the register and rang it up. he had grabbed the wrong computer. That should have been a sign! But I bought it. I have the right USB ports. I'm old. I'm tired. I messed with it for hours. They are getting it back.... read more

    We purchased this printer mainly for the ability to print out receipts and order confirmations or online purchases as we didn't want to blow through colored ink just for mundane bookkeeping paperwork. Very happy with the purchase, set up was a breeze and replacement cartridges are cheaper and easy to find.

    I was tiring of continually buying expensive ink for my ink jet printer. A best buy employee told me that if i didn't care about printing in color to look at a printer with toner instead. I took his advice and bought the Brother printer. It has surpassed my expectations. It gives a high quality print at a much faster rate than my ink jet at a fraction of the cost. The toner lasts forever! if you do not need color printing, there is no doubt this printer is for you.

    Prints well from my iPhone, iPad, laptop for multiple people in the household. No issues so far!

    This printer has terrible wirelless connection. Every time I spend a lot of time to fix it plus it uses a lot of paper for nothing ( it prints wlan report everytime before printing an actual document and does not print what I need) The support does not know anything, looks like they just do not care. I definitely will not buy products from this company any more and will not recommend to do so anyone. And even more, this piece of crap begins to work at anytime and when it starts to work at night it does not give me to sleep. ... read more

    First off, the specs say Networking: wired and wireless. It doesn't have wired ethernet, just wireless. It does have USB, but I don't consider that a network. Second it will not awaken from deep sleep to print wirelessly from a Mac. I worked with customer support, but it just plainly doesn't work. So unless you want to turn it off and then back on each time you wish to print, forget it. Prints well from USB.
