Easy setup. Uses standard toner cartridge Easy setup. Uses standard toner cartridge. All HP printers are being replaced by Brother printers because of the cost savings of using the same toner cartridge across a number of printer models. Every time HP come out with a new printer, they have a new cartridge to go with it, Last count there were over 37,000 HP printers out there with different cartridges. People wake up!!
can't keep it up (the connection that is) I've had good luck with other Brother printers, but this one is a disaster. Constantly loses connection to my laptop (Macbook Pro running El Capitan 10.11.6). Reconfigured several times with no luck. As a bonus, the printer has nightmarish sleep and deep sleep settings which mean once you get the connection up, it almost immediately is lost. (Those, however, you fortunately can at least limit the damage from, turning off deep sleep and increasing time to sleep to 50 minutes.)
One Star Does not work anymore. Spent tooooo much time trying to fix it. I hat it.

Includes, Macbook pro, 34" LCD monitor, 27" LCD monitor, several external hard drives, USB Hub, scanner, air filter, this only totals up to 2.7 Amps. The other 6.3 amps are all lights. The printer specs state that it uses 670 watts (approx 6.1A) when printing in normal mode, 375 watts (approx 3.4A) when printing in quiet mode, but a peak power draw of a whopping 1368 watts (12.4... read more
Wrinkled pages Garbage. After 50 prints, every page gets wrinkled. I can't use this printer to include packing and return slips to my online customers because every page print out wrinkled.
Not the best for volume business check printing It's a nice compact printer and it seems to work fine. It was purchased primarily for printing AP checks on pre-printed check stock. Unfortunately, the way that the Brother printer feeds the paper from the tray, I would need to individually turn over every blank check before loading it into the printer (or I would need load the check stock manually one at a time.) After speaking with Brother, there is no alternative which allows me to adjust this setting. So, if you are looking... read more

I was able to print somewhat delicate labels on the other printer, but this one melts them. :/ The print quality isn't as good either. I would go back to the other printer in a heartbeat if I could.
omg what is happening? dimmed all the lights when i printed on a 20 amp circuit. sent it right back ...
FOR A FEW DOLLARS MORE ... I just replaced my old HP Laser Jet 2100 with the Brother HL-6200dw. Turns out a brand new Brother laser printer was less than $70 more than the HP cartridge replacement. Duh, that’s a no brainer for a brand new model. The only thing worrying me was the "power drain" tendency inherent in Brother Laser printers. I am happy to say there was no "power drain" or dimming of the lights after testing this printer. Now grant it, I have all LED lights on the circuit. So besides the laptops, peripherals and ... read more
