Sleep mode Never gets out of sleep mode. Horrible printer.
*DO NOT BUY* - this model has a flaw that causes pages to crease. Multiple warranty replacements have had same issue. **DO NOT BUY*** I would rate this printer with zero stars if that was an option. When brand new, this printer will work beautifully. It is a fast printer, and I love the auto duplex. HOWEVER... eventually your pages will start to be creased. WAREHOUSE DEALS ARE DEFECTIVE RETURNED MERCHANDISE Never, ever, ever buy one of these "Amazon Warehouse Deals" printers. I am now stuck with two that had hidden defects recently discovered and the Amazon return period is only 30 days. HLL6200DW not Durable This printer has gone bad. I'm giving up on it after 20 months of use. It wrinkles and embosses the paper sheets. It has done so for several months, but it continues to get worse. This is supposed to be a printer than can handle a reasonably high level of printing, but it hasn't worked out in this case. A printer should last longer than that, especially one that makes the claims this one does. It prints fast, but mine was not durable.
Lasted just over 1 month Bought it Oct 25, it is now December 6 and it is not longer working. It is making this really strong burning smell.
Dirty prints Prints are covered with black specks that make it look dirty. I just missed the return window or it would be going back, as I was away on vacation. Now I'll have to see if I can get it fixed. It's really awful. Otherwise I guess I'll just have to live with this piece of junk.
Brother printers work decently I love brother's printers. They last a long time. My only complaint is that the drum has to be replaced at some point. The drum is essentially the same price at the printer. So I decide to not by the drum, but just buy a new printer. Of course that is probably something Brother wants consumers to do. But it is such a waste.
Paper creasing after 17 months of use I received this printer from Brother as a refurb replacement for a defective early generation printer. It worked well for 17 months then it began creating a longitudinal crease in each page.
