Failed after 1 month Printer worked one one month before it stopped printing clearly - pages had spots and print was blurred and faded on 20% of pages. Help pages said it was a bad drum, so we replaced the drum and the problems persisted. Had to junk the printer after only one month of use. :-(
I have wasted so much paper with this printer I have wasted so much paper with this printer. It puts creases in the papers and I can't use the papers for my work. I have tried all of the tips for this issue and nothing works. Avoid this printer.
I hate this printer. I absolutely hate this printer. Great if you are printing only one page. multiple page printing always has toner sprayed all over at least one page. For example if you are printing a 4 page document one of the pages will have toner sprayed on it. Usually only one page, but every document will have that one page unusable. So you have to go and print that one page by itself. A waste of toner, paper and most importantly time. I wish i would have bought a different printer.
Better than HP I had a bad experience with an HP M402n, returned it and bought this machine. Initially I had some problems of light print and called the Brother support line. I got a person who didn't know anything about this machine, was reading from a data base, and kept putting me on hold. The woman made me take out the drum and the toner cartridge and do a test print and all sorts of things that wasted time. It was annoying. Print Quality Issues Fast, two sided, holds a ream of paper, but has toner lightly smeared on the first inch or two of most pages. If there is a simple fix for this (cleaning, wiping, paper changes) I have not found it. I used this to replace a 10 year old HP, which still printed crystal clear the last time I used it. If I had it to do over, I wouldn't!

Great when it works.... Major network flaw in this model. I have been so put out with this printer it is ridiculous. This is THE 2nd printer I have had in 3 weeks and IT just went out again. This thing is great while it works. Both times I have had Network issues where it shows that it has received your data, but then cancels the printing. Decent price for a decent small business printer. I've gone through two of these printers. We use them for a business printing about 40-50 pages/day. Just bought my third. They tend to last about 1.5-2 years. They start putting creases in the paper, misaligning paper, etc. The paper capacity and toner yield are good for small business.
900 AND THE QUALITY OF THE PRINT IS TERRIBLE, SMUDGES UP AND DOWN THE RIGHT SIDE I BOUGHT IT MAYBE A YEAR AGO, THE DRUM IS RATED FOR 30,000 COPIES, I HAVE 16,900 AND THE QUALITY OF THE PRINT IS TERRIBLE, SMUDGES UP AND DOWN THE RIGHT SIDE. BROTHER REP TOLD ME TO CLEAN THE DRUM WITH COTTON SWAB SOAKED IN RUBBING ALCOHOL, I HAVE BEEN DOING THIS FOR TWO DAYS AND NO RESULT. BROTHER REP TOLD ME SORRY YOU HAVE TO GET A NEW DRUM.
