and so far LOVE it. Prints very fast I've had this printer almost 2wks, printed ~200-300 pages, and so far LOVE it. Prints very fast, has auto duplexing, and colors look great! The printer is much quieter than my HP printer, and I can make it even quieter than normal using Brother's "quiet mode" (see picture). 1.0 out of 5 stars Doesn't connect -- Glorified Brick Neither my husband nor I are ever able to send documents to the machine (we both have newer model Macbook Airs and a Macbook Pro). The printer constantly drops the WIFI connection despite the signal being strong. It throws error messages about having an incorrect WIFI password (the password is correct...). Then twenty minutes later, it randomly starts printing again. This machine is an absolute nightmare. DO NOT BUY!!!
2.0 out of 5 stars When This Printer Isn't Fast Asleep... Brother, for some inexplicable reason, decided to give this printer a Sleep and a Deep Sleep mode. What does this translate to? Almost every time you want to print, you have to (as in my case) travel downstairs to my office just to wake this thing up before I can print. That's right. When you send a print job to the 8260, if it's asleep, you ain't waking it up without a good kick in the butt. 1.0 out of 5 stars Printer wastes expensive toner like crazy. This printer wastes toner so bad I couldn't even get 500 color prints out of it. The crazy part is refill Brother 4 pack of TN-433 toner literally costs as much as the printer. I could print color prints at FedEx for less money than what it cost to print with this printer. Totally not satisfied with this printer and will never buy from these shady printer companies who try to rip you off every chance they get.

Badly cheated out of this transaction I got this product, trusting the quality reviews of Brother. When I received it and test printed the device, only 25% of the sheet would print anything on a vertical right side. I requested and was approved for return. I was made to pay for the return, a $78 cost. I think this was as much of a cheating as anyone would for a device bought on Amazon.com
Printer stops printing when toner is "Out"...but it's not out. Brother has always had a business model of selling decent quality printers, fax machines, etc., and looking for profit in the consumables. With this printer, however, it's is a bridge to far me, as this color laser unit stopped working, with a read out to "replace black toner"...we hadn't even used it that much. It was ridiculously abusive. I would not recommend it, or any Brother printer really, if they share this functionality.
GOOD FOR TEXT, BUT... If you need a printer to print good quality text, at good print speeds, and reasonably priced for a laser, this be the one for you. BUT, if your needing to print areas of solid color, screened backgrounds, photos... this printer is terrible! Streaks all throughout photos and solid color areas, uneven color, "spattered" color; very disappointed in the print quality of this printer. Thought i could get away from the dreaded printer streaks of inkjets by getting a laser, but this printer is worse at streak... read more
