Not for MacBook I bought this to use with my MacBook and even though it says wireless and Mac-compatible, after 2-1/2 hours, it still would not connect to a wireless network or direct connect to my laptop. I read every instruction I could find, those that came with it and those online. I watched the online tutorial videos - something I never do. Thoroughly frustrated with all of the wasted time.
Set up fast Sent to my son and his college roommates. They won’t have search for and pay on the spot to print. Does everything you would want it to do. Electronics either work out of the box or they don’t. Have similar one home. Worst thing that happened is it falls off wifi once in a while.
Print quality is just not there. I've been using this printer for a little over a year now, and the print quality is just not very good, especially for photos. The toner streaks, the colors are off and for some reason many images come out with banding patterns - see attached photo of the inset original image and the printed image in the background. Overall, the printer may be ok if you're just printing text or simple graphics, but it's horrible for printing photos and artwork.
Print Unable 0A - Expect to See This On the Printer I have had this printer for about eight months and have probably only printed about fifteen pages. It just sits on my printer stand, but I tried printing a few days ago and all I get is this "Print Unable 0A" error code. The interent says that if powering it down and unplugging it for a while doesn't reset it, then it needs to be serviced. After many days of attempts to reset, only choice left is service. How does a new, virtually unused printer need to be serviced? If you ... read more
Ink too $$ Find a better long term printer The print quality is good, but only really when you use the Brother ink, which is $500 per set! So, I’d give this a good rating and value foe cost, but using the affordable toner cartridges just doesn’t yield the quality prints. Brother, you’re a little greedy. Also, this thing is HUGE
Overpriced for a device that lasted 1.5 years and slowest I didn't even print through the first toner cartridges. The device has a voltage leak. I didn't even notice it until it was on the same circuit as a UPS. If any support is reading this. Yes I used the "original" cord. The UPS would start to kick on every time you attempted to use it for voltage issues on the circuit. Let's also mention that the print speeds advertised are a straight up lie. It prints maybe two pages fiddles around for the next 5 to 10 seconds then sta... read more
This printer has been trouble from the start This has been a nightmare from the start. As a family we get these strange error messages. You never know if it’s going to work. We are resting the computers and the printer constantly. I liked Brother but really let down on this one.
Sold me a faulty printer The printer never worked from the time it was set up. It kept grinding and jamming. I dug paper out 5 times. Still didn't work. Requested a refund a week ago. No response. No cool at all!!
Software glitches Good printer but software problem making it only connect with wifi for about 3 minutes then no longer connects. Spent an hour with my IT professional confirming software issues, unfixable. Happened occasionally month 1 and 2, but always month 3. Will return or put in trash can.
