AWFUL STAY AWAY! MONEY PIT! So I have the older version of this printer and love it! I am actually still using it with no problems! Unfortunately, they removed the option to be able to reset the toner. So you still have about 50% toner left but it says you need to replace it. If you don't the printer stops printing! This printer will be a money pit if you purchase it! Go purchase a hp laser printer. When there printer says low ink it will keep printing until you change it! Setting up is huge problme According to setup diagram, you need to pull toner tray (DR-431CL) out remove packing and push back in. I am struggling for last two hours and it is not going inside. I am afraid to push hard because of all plastic parts might break. Called Amazon for the support and support service hang up on me. Thinking about returning back and buy another brand printer.
Absolute Garbage. I was a big fan of brother printers until I got this one. We do a medium heavy amount of printing, and I bought this one as an upgrade due to print life, ink life, etc... but it has been nothing but trouble. We will start with the biggest problem - it pauses between every single sheet on a load over 2. 45 seconds to 4 minutes between prints. BAD ENVELOPES Overall this printer functions well EXCEPT printing envelopes. I have 2 of these printers and both do the same thing to envelopes, they come out with creasing around the edges and on the backside of the envelope. I should have returned them, I'm back to using my old Samsung.
After 14 months, won't turn on 14 months after purchase, the printer won't turn on. The unit is basically a doorstop now since it failed 2 months past the warranty. I have checked the outlet and tried a different power cable. I expected more from Brother and now I am very disappointed.
DISAPOINTED I bought this printer to replace my old Cannon. Main purpose was for printing my Photos. SO DISAPOINTED. The colors don't come close to photos. Menus don't offer quality choices, previews, must over expose to lighten print, I just don't have the skills or time to spend hours to try and change internal software to try and correct. PIST
Double sided prints upside down I purchased this printer because of the low cost ink. The ink doesn't last very long. The printer is slower than my $80 HP. No matter what I did, no matter how I changed the settings, I could not get the printer to FLIP on the LONG edge. I promise you that I changed the settings both in the driver, Windows, and the browser. I even tried through Google Docs and still no luck. Stopped being a wireless printer and has no wired connections - USELESS I have had this printer since 2017. When it works it’s a great printer. However, it has become completely not operational and despite having gone through troubleshooting for everything 4-5 times including talking with brother and Xfinity this printer just will not connect to the Wi-Fi and will not print.
DOES NOT WORK I have attempted to download drivers using wireless capabilities several times and have even went and purchased cords to connect directly to download to the device. The device will not operationalize at all. I have written the seller and requested that I return it. I got a response about being more than 30 days after the purchase.
