Toller Strand und schönes Gebäude, der Rest naja Wir hatten aufgrund schlechter Erfahrungen im Erdgeschoss um ein höhers Stockwerk gebeten - und wurden x Fach vertröstet. Versprochene Rückmeldungen durch guest Relations würden mehrfach hintereinander nicht gemacht. Direkt vor unserem Zimmer war eine Baustelle - keine Spur von „Partial Seaview“, dafür Baulärm ab 7:00 morgens. Tell travelers about the construction before they book
Disappointed Hotel being remodelled (not advised and no apologies on arrival) resulting in being woken by excavators at 7am. Problems with room - lights not working, blocked toilet, filthy balcony. General feel that no one really gave a damn about doing a good job esp in relation to the bedrooms and really didn’t make us feel like we were staying in top resort hotel. Sure it will improve once remodelling is complete...
Loved the location but never again The hotel was built in 1888 very old and smells like mold. When we complained they got us a spray, that did ok for two minutes m. The view was very bad and we woke up daily at 7 pm from construction. You should book in the new towers not the old once and ocean view to get maybe a better feeling of the hotel

It is a landmark but not worth the money. The rooms smell like dog. They charged $50 a night for parking. Dinner for two was over $200 and they served me under cooked chicken. Our bathtub did not drain. The outlet in the bathroom did not work. It took over 40 minutes to get a Bellhop. There is only one tiny, antique elevator which also takes forever.

Remember that you’re on an island in Southern California and that everything is overpriced. Nothing is actually worth what you’re paying...but they’ve got you over a barrel. Just plan for things to cost three times what you’re used to.
A lot of the reviews I read said the property was not clean and they did. I didn’t find that to be true at all.
