loved the personalized service. with every call placed, they answered saying my name. i loved how we were given beach chairs, towels and an umbrella for no additional charge. pool and jacuzzi area were clean and neat. i liked the 2 beachside areas available to enjoy the view and a drink.

lots of construction!! A LOT of construction going on! got wakened the first morning at 7am to concrete being jackhammered. had to do the 7-8 min walk back to reception to stand in line for 15 mins to beg for a room change. finally got one. rooms in the tower area are ok, nothing special. ready for a renovation soon. they were clean, but well used. example: the cabinet door in front of the fridge was hanging askew and wouldn’t close.
Great history and view! The room service staff and restaurants were great, the view was amazing! Could occasionally hear the people walking above me but not tv or voices. Love the history of the hotel and how the restoration seems to be keeping that in mind. The gal at the signature store was a bit condescending but the rest of the staff in the stores were helpful and kind.
The history and architecture and views. We could see the bay, coronado bridge hear the ocean when the window was open. Its was beautiful

Loved the place, unfortunately there as major renovation taking place in main areas of the hotel, swimming pool, etc, and was not warned beforehand and could not find any indication this was happening on the normal travel, hotel and booking sites

Very expensive but with little to offer in terms of anenities

The hotel was an exceptional hotel but they did not make us aware that there was construction going on. It had significant impact on our experience. With the money we spent we would have more than likely gone somewhere else
