Construction noice 7am-7pm The location is amazing but the hotel staff convinced me and my family to upgrade to an ocean view room but “forgot” to mention that it was right on top of their pool construction. I was told at check in I was getting a great deal on the room. It felt like they were on commission and wanted to up-charge me.
My experience with front desk wasn’t positive! It all feels like there’s this corporate take over and trying to get the famous del back on track with upgrades (that are needed in the tower room that I was in) and construction going on all around which is fine...but something was lost. And the Astro turf doesn’t appeal! Communications weren’t clear about the whole resort. Beautiful location of course and it is iconic But I feel it’s lost some soul. And it’s insanely busy!

The location of the property is incredible. The views can’t be beat. The disappointing part of the visit is that we booked a room with a partial view in the Victorian portion of the building, and they took the liberty of moving us to the Ocean Towers with full ocean view. Rooms needed painting and refurbishing; same for the stairways; railings were often loose!

Gorgeous location, but under a lot of construction. Lack of communication on texting us our room, 30 minutes past check in time.
The Del is a legendary experience. Beauty, climate, service and amenities are exceptional.
