Seems like there's been a staffing change and no one seems friendly or helpful as I remembered it from previous visits anymore. A chubby young girl with black long hair at the Front desk wasn't nice, as if I was bothering her by wanting an appointment and also didn't feel like giving pricing information. It seemed like they'd prefer to turn away business then have a client wait an hour to be seen. I have been using the services at this animal hospital for the past 11 years, and have been generally happy with the staff and services...that is until today. One of the receptionist (Lyndsey) accused me of lying about the heart work treatment my dog had been receiving, stating that if they had not sold me the product, there was no way for them to tell that I had been giving the treatment...all I wanted to do was buy more product to treat my pet.....so I had to get my dog, get a heartworm test (another 35 dollars) and then... read more
The vet at Huffard tried to get us to euthanize our healthy dog. Our dog got out last week and we weren't able to catch him. He was hit by a car and taken to Huffard Animal Hospital. When I found out where he was, I called, and they told me what they wanted to do for him (x-rays and warming him), and it would cost $250. I said fine, and was on my way in. Dr. McCafferty should open up her own veterinary clinic with like-minded staff, because she's the only one there that seems to understand that your animals are your family, not just a furry paycheck. We've taken two generations of dogs and cats two her spanning probably 15 years now, and she's always so caring and knowledgeable. She's healed our dogs many times, and had the compassion to know when it was time to let go and guided us through it.
