Idaho Central Credit Union might be OK for most people, but if you like to be debt free and pay off your loans early, then look elsewhere.Idaho Central Credit Union places strict limits on the amount one can transfer into their account. Had I know their policy, this Idaho native would never done business with ICCU. The atuo dealership promised I could pay off the entire loan early without any penatly. This credit union dragged out my loan approval for over three months while rates kept going up each week. Now, I cannot refinance my loan elsewhere. Idaho Central Credit Union is a terrible credit union and I will never use them again.

On May 31, 2023 we went into ICCU to open a CD for 5% annual APY interest. We saw it advertised on their website and it was listed as the rate on their reader board in the credit union. When we opened the CD account we commented to the banker that 5% is a great rate. She said nothing about the interest rate being different, at ****%. This rate was not posted or discussed with us. As someone who use to work there, they are a terrible credit union. Not only have I personally see them bounce from one idea to another confusing their workers, they give their workers gifts and lie to them to keep them happy. They tell their workers what they want to hear but if you aren't Mormon and/or drink their Kool-Aid, your as good as gone as soon as they can get rid of you. They have a tendency to change their deposit policy nearly weekly. When asked about it, they become extremely noncompliant, argumentative and unprofessional. They are entirely condescending to customers and give you the attitude that they dont want your business just your money.
Went for a car loan for car **** The loan officer was very rude and demeaning. I was also told to go to ********** because that's "their" preferred dealer. Also applied for a starter Credit Card. I was told I could not get one because my score was to low. It's not. They check my credit 4 times without my approval or application. I seriously would suggest a better financial institution. ICCU espically the *************************** had been nothing but rude to me.
Definitely not a a credit union that looks out for their members. They've grown too large, support *****, and fees are horrible.Attempted to close my account and they didn't do it properly. The next month my automatical bill pays happened, overdraft the "closed" account and they call and want me to make the balance positive.....um, not my fault.Seriously, find a smaller CU that's mber focused--iccu isn't it.
In the last month I have I have taljed to many employees if iccu I have a helco interest only loan with them.I asked why do the statement and the receipts of payment and the print out from their computer they don't have the same information. The ending balance verys from $8.80 to $400.00 with in one statement to the next month statement And that is with out drawing in money from that account.
