Food was pitiful. The fish tacos have virtually no fish and are tasteless. The accompanying salad was bland. The cod dinner had a small serving of fish. What, can’t afford fish? We have noticed that the protein servings have sprinkled substantially over the last few years. Not a good place to eat anymore.
The food, atmosphere, and overall energy at this restaurant are always amazing, truly outstanding. I’ve been a regular customer for quite some time and usually make my reservations through Joey, as I have a specific table I prefer and have consistently enjoyed excellent experiences here. My second really bad review of Joey Don Mills. After a very poor experience last time, I give management credit for responding and offering to make it up to us. I’m not in the habit of looking for “freebies” so never took up the offer. Yesterday’s experience was no better. Beer ordered by my brother had huge heads of foam, his burger was over cooked, dried out, overpriced and tasteless, My carbonara had no resemblance whatsoever to my expectations for a classic Italian dish. Rude staff who made us get seated. - rigid and arrogant service. Visited with family and was pushed to some corner aisle that was pathetic. Lastly burnt & tasteless bitter food that was clearly plated a few hours back. The cheese on the fries had become very dry and crunchy.
They serve Walmart grade ribeyes 🙁, great vibe and service, but if you’re looking for great food this place is not it.
Food was great, service was slow, waters came after the food. Overall, this location didn’t have the service we usually get from other locations.
Visited on a Saturday afternoon and the service was terrible. About 5 diff staff came to ‘check in on us’ (I presume they knew they were lacking in service, as we could overhear someone else complaining) but they didn’t do anything - we had to ask for our extra fries 4 times (to 4 diff staff members who were ‘checking’ on us - incl 2 who appeared to be mgmt) Note, this was after we waited ages for 4 drinks. Overall disappointing dinner. The restaurant was packed with families and kids were running and yelling. I understand it’s not up to the restaurant but the atmosphere was pretty bad. The service was just as bad. Our waiter didn’t know to answer questions about the menu, kept going to the kitchen and asking the cooks. The drinks were mediocre at best, and we even returned one because it was way too strong. The food was ok, nothing special. I don’t see myself coming back to this location anytime soon
