We decided to celebrate Thanksgiving at Joey this year. The service is usually impeccable and this was the case on this day with every staff going out of their way to make our experience an enjoyable one. Unfortunately, our main, lobster spaghetti, was extremely acidic - very heavy on the lemon. This was a shame because the appetizers and desserts were delicious. Because of this, our meal was not of the calibre that we have expected for Joey which accounts for the 4 star rating.
I’m a joeys regular, and was very disappointed at the taste of the food. They also changed up their menu items. I’m not sure if it is the location or all the restaurants because I had gone to Edmonton bell tower location recently and Sherway gardens and they were good. The service was great but food made my rating go down significantly.
Our server was friendly and pleasant….unfortunately it seemed he was being made to bounce all over the place and did not have a lot of support. We were there 30 minutes before we got our drinks and another 45 before we got food. Food quality was good but drink and food prices seemed high for what we got. We also advised that there was a birthday but the restaurant did nothing to recognize that.
We sat in the bar area for happy hour. We ordered a bunch of food. No one ever returned to our table after we received our food. We had to go over to the bar to order all of our drinks and the empty plates were never taken away. It was an experience that has me not wanting to return. What a disappointment.
The overall service was bad slow and really didnt have much attention to customers. We found some hair our dip which was replaced and removed from our bill however nothing was done to redeem the overall lack of service. Started with water glasses that had a weird smell. We went to cleberate a bday and they didn't remember the cake and when presented, was the smallest piece. Diet of all I’d like to say I love joeys but I’ve been very disappointed the last two times I’ve gone. We didn’t once have our waitress come back and ask us for any refills or if we needed anything else. We waited for over an hour to get our dinner plates taken away and to get a dessert for my friends birthday and to top It off no candles. Then another 20 minutes for coffee. But at the same time they’re understaffed so I can understand. But I don’t think I’ll do anymore celebrations there
