First time at this place and our server Kai was amazing! I loved his energy and willingness to serve! He has made us his regular customers!
We've been coming here for many years, usually for breakfast, but also for many lunches. This is my second review. I felt I needed to because of the occasional negative review below. In the dozens of visits, eating both in the restaurant or getting it to go, we have never, never been served poor quality food or in any way been disappointed by either the food or the service. Now with their expanded menu, they have real bacon and beef items on the menu as well. And comparing them to the deli in NYC is ridiculous, unless yo... read more
Classic dinner food but with great quality. Breakfast or lunch is highly recommended. Priced pretty fair for the area but you get your moneys worth. Weekdays are definitely better than weekends when it comes to seating as it is limited.
We used to frequent Katz's in Austin yearrrrrrrs ago, and then they closed. We we're so excited to see this next to our hotel. We were there at about 11:30a on a Sunday, and we sat at the bar with no wait. I got coffee, which was just good 'ole great coffee with quick refills. My husband had a beer from their great selection. They did not have a ton to choose from, but they were all breweries we were not overly familiar with since we're not from the area. I had the bagels and lox, which is one of my favorites! Not only di... read more
We really enjoyed our food! We were coming home late from an event and happy to find a place that stays open 24/7 besides Whataburger. (Although we like it as well). We had the chicken & waffles and the salmon sandwich on wheat. Both were pretty good. The service was fast, polite, and very attentive. This place is our new go-to for late night eating. Thumbs up!
Ordered the stuffed cabbage for takeout. The order was ready a few minutes after I arrived. The servings are huge. Great tasting, moist and fresh. Everything worked out very well.
I love Katz's deli. The food is great. Sometimes service is considered slower but that's because it's not fast food. It's a restaurant made to leisurely enjoy yourself, having good food and good conversation. That's want a good delicatessen is about. The only drawback for me is that it's arguably expensive for my budget. I'd eat here much more often if it was cheaper or it had a happy hour with reduced prices on food.
Went here late night. Tried the cabbage roll, which was lukewarm and not good at all. Ordered a Ruben on french roll, no rye... it was super good. Also ordered the pasta alfredo with shrimp and steak. Now, thinking back on it, I shouldn't have ordered steak from a deli. But.... it happened. The shrimp, pasta and sauce were really good... the steak was tough and not cooked too my specifications, and I almost choked twice....But, other than that the service was good And overall the food was very good.
It wasn't bad but it wasn't great either. I've been to the real Katz in NYC and this is a very distant second. I longed for the NYC version and I suspect this is the closest i'll find until the pandemic stops and NYC returns to normal. Staff was very friendly and service was fast.
