Get directionsPretty much the only place to get Matzo ball soup around North Houston. Which has been nice to at least have that for my Jewish deli fix , after moving away from a city where Jewish delis were plentiful and second to none. And where I lack motivation to drive down to Kenny and Ziggy's. (Which I highly recommend, only true Jewish Deli I know of in Houston but would love to know about more. If you know please let me know!) Sad to have found out after missing the bagel chips in my last 2 matzo ball soup orders that they no lon... read more
GABBY WAS THE WORST supervi who ignores customers for over 10 minutes while you try to order food she sat in the back drinking her soda while watching us wait and laughing with coworker
This is not a Kosher Jewish deli!! It's like I'm a glutton for punishment because I continue to go to this restaurant thinking things might be different. I ordered the scrambled eggs with lox and onions. Now I don't know what they think lox is but traditional lox is not cooked salmon; lox is a cold smoked salmon, a sushi grade salmon. It was disgusting. I repeat, this is not a Kosher Jewish deli. There are plenty of places you can go for breakfast don't come here. And if you want a Jewish deli there's a really good one in Ho... read more
Every time I go here I always leave irritated. The food and service are good, but the prices are outrageous. I always get sticker shock every time I get the bill. Today was no different. 1 small appetizer, 3 sandwiches, 3 drinks and a side of fries was over $80! Sorry, it's just not worth that much. Especially when I can got to Jason's for almost half the price.
I've given this place way too many chances. After every concert I end up trying this place out again thinking that it would be better than it was recently but of course being let down again. The food is awful and overpriced. The service is less than mediocre, but at least it's clean. It must only be this location because I haven't had any of these issues at any other Katz's. If you think it's a good idea to stop here for a late night bite, you're better off with choosing Waffle House.
We really need more authentic deli's in Houston and Katz's just doesn't fit the bill. I go back every year to confirm the food is still mediocre hoping they will have improved. This week my wife and I went for a bowl of soup and a sandwich. I had hoped for some pastries (hamentashen) but they didn't have anything (as in nothing, not even a black and white). The matzoh ball soup had to suffice since kreplach is not on the menu. The soup was SALTY and seemed like the vegetables were freeze dried. It was nowhere near the taste... read more
I would like to tell you about an experience my husband and I had at your restaurant on Sunday 2/25/24 at 12:47pm. Check #109, table 32. As we entered the restaurant we were seated promptly. After being seated it took a while for the waiter to greet us, understandable he was training a new hire. At the time our order was taken I asked a question to the waiter, which one would you prefer the salad or Pesto Pasta Primavera (in the picture on the menu it has shrimp) for $14.99. He recommended the Penne Pasta Alfredo with the s... read more
You know what a staple of any good deli is, like a measured tried and true metric of how good it is? The Pastrami. If a deli has good Pastrami, its more than a fair bet that the rest of the menu will be of equal quality. Do you know what Katz's DOESN'T have? Good Pastrami. Even more remarkably so, it doesn't even have a manager who knows what Pastrami is or should taste like! The first, and only, time I went to Katz's Deli in The Woodlands I ordered a Pastrami sandwich. I took a single bite, swallowed out of sheer common hum... read more
We arrived for dinner, and even though there were over 20 open tables, we had to wait 5 to 10minutes to be seated. Why?...I don't know. We ordered a Reuben sandwich, there was no Rye bread and no chips were delivered with our meal. There was also no sour dough. Plus they put way too much sauerkraut.
Katz's has a 3.9 star rating with 2,985 reviews.
Katz's is open now. It is open 24/7.
