I had a much better experience at the carrolwood location, which is unfortunate because this one is much closer for me. I got the build your own combo with scrambled eggs, potatoes, and a waffle. The potatoes were undercooked and the waffle was so dry that I just didn't enjoy it. My boyfriend also said his waffle was extremely dry and he enjoyed his meal much more in carrolwood. The server was really nice, but the service was just really slow and it wasn't even during a rush time that we went, so I expected it to be a little... read more
They just don't get it right "for me at least" - third time there - and it will be my last. I have friends that love it and eat there once a week. So I want to like them...I really do. I'm not going to go into all the rants about the quality of food -I'll just say - I'm just not into you KeKe's. There are so many better places for breakfast.
I've enjoyed Keke's here in Tampa and in Orlando since moving to Florida. Today's experience was my worse. There was no wait, but the service was mediocre and I my meal was spoiled when another nearby patron brought a big, smelly dog inside of the restaurant. I could smell it strongly at my table. I eventually moved my seat, but the staff, for the most part, wasn't too concerned. One staff member expressed concern, but not enough to approach the other patrons. He asked me several questions, even though I didn't bring... read more
On the same level as iHop but more expensive. There were no vegan options even though it says there are. Wouldn't recommend
I have been to a couple of Keke's in other cities, however, was exceedingly disappointed with my experience today. After an hour of waiting we were told our order was misplaced and it would be out shortly. I understand these things happen, yet the employees and manager made no attempts to make our experience better. The manager acknowledged once the food was delivered that the portions were small and inaccurate. However, icing on the cake was the waitress dropping off the check as we finally got our first bite. Not to check ... read more
The staff will need some additional training before Keke's can get to perfection. Atmosphere: As soon as I walked in my first thought was "This is a CLASSY place for a breakfast joint." Food: I had the piña-colada stuffed French toast, and a small Philly cheesesteak omelette. Both were excellent, but I thought it was pricey considering the portion size. No complaints about the taste though. Staff: Here is my main reason that Keke's does not get a higher score. First, once my wife's food came, the server says "Be careful,... read more
It is never good, when you have to ask to speak to the manager before you even sit down at your table, but alas, that is what happened to me when I visited Keke's for the first time this morning. Since this is a relatively new restaurant, I was concerned that they might be too busy, so before driving over, I called to find out what the wait time was. Surprisingly, I was told 15-20 minutes, so I left for their location immediately so as to miss the after-church rush. Upon arriving, I noticed a lot (and I mean a lot) of peo... read more
I was soooo excited to try this place!! The food is ok....service is slow. Way understaffed in the kitchen today. Servers need to learn the menu better and be trained a little more. I described it as an over-glorified Village Inn as the food is nothing fancy, just not as greasy. May return for a waffle just to see how they do, but saw a few undercooked sausage links roll by as we waited over 25 minutes for our food and watched the managers dote over the table next to us who, by the way, came in later than us AND received the... read more
This place isn't the breakfast place you want. This is the one you have to go to in a hotel where everything is an up charge or unavailable. No grits. Why would a place outside the tourist areas in Florida not offer grits. Refused to poach eggs. $4 up charge for fruit on a waffle. I don't object to a charge, but $4 is what I would expect at a hotel not a breakfast place. To trade the only side item of potatoes is also $2.50 for fruit. The fruit vendor they use must wear an eyepatch and bring it in from The Spanish Main. ... read more
