The ambience and service was great! However, I’m sad to say the food lacked seasoning; very bland.
The food was very over priced for what it was. Our experience wasn’t horrible, the food was ok, but wildly overpriced.
Bread was brought to the table by a worker with filthy fingernails. Bread was dry. The gnocchi was mozzarella filled pasta with a very weak pesto sauce. When I asked the waiter if it was good he said the pesto has a nice "kick". The gnocchi was too dense and undercooked - making it obnoxiously chewy. And the only "kick" was the price for such a tasteless dish - $34.00. I ate about 10 pieces and could not get another little bullet down. My partner got the veal dish - with cheese on top - came with an impressive long bone. I h... read more
The food was good however the service was horrible. Never refilled our waters, food took almost 2 hours and we had to ask for plates to be cleared and in addition physically standup and hand our check to a random server to run the bill. I would certainly not dine here again with all of the options in Dallas.
Tiramisu was disappointing. Beware they charge $9 if you get still water. I liked the Agnoloti Pizzicati, Carote al forno
The dish had the smallest shrimp that we have ever seen and flavorless to boot! The restaurant music is too loud and not pleasant.... Nothing soothing and pleasant! When this restaurant first opened we were there and were patrons for the first couple of years, and then it went down hill, but we wanted to give it one more chance since we were attending, in our neighborhood, the performance of Beauty & the Beast at the Winspear Opera House. So, La Stella is history for us.
The waiter who served us was a very nice person, but he had NO business being in the restaurant business. Very clearly not his calling. Waiting on multiple tables in a busy environment was decidedly not within his capabilities. He had a very hard time focusing and was constantly distracted. At one point we asked for two glasses of Malbec... his response was "we only have Italian wines." He then literally turned around and walked away. I am not joking. We never got our last round of drinks. The manager comp'd a bunch of bever... read more
Food and service are as good as in the past but the prices have increased dramatically since last time we came a year ago. We had pasta and a glass of wine each and shared a dessert. With tip, 160$ for 2 people. It's great to have live music while you eat but that was our last time...
My husband s as d I decided to try La Stella Cucina before a show acrobatics as the street. We allowed plenty of time but, given the indifferent service from our waiter and the poor pacing of the kitchen, we barely made our show. We waited over 20 minutes between our starters and our main course and when we asked our waiter about the delay he inexcusably got angry with my husband. A manager stepped in and salvaged the rest of the evening but given the service and the noise level I’m sure we won’t be returning. Sadly, the foo... read more
