We (my husband and I) are very pleased with the service by PennyMac. Our loan officer Liem Nguyen is extremely professional, knowledgeable and friendly - he made the process completely easy to follow and all the information was precisely as he said it would be. I liked the constant updates about what was happening and what was expected of me, both in person by phone and on the website.
You hear so many horror stories about refinancing but this process was 100% the opposite. It was quick, Liam and the rest of the MAC team were extremely helpful and kept me in the loop all the way. Great Job!
Staff was very helpful and patient
It took almost 2 months to underwrite my loan. It appeared there were communication gaps between loan originator underwriter. The underwriter was erroneously waiting for an appraisal doc when in actuality that requirement had been waived .
Liem was excellent. Other persons dropped the ball. On the first closing date they forgot to pay the property taxes, so we could not close. On the second closing date they forgot to pay the insurance, so the closing was delayed. The third closing date was very good. Some where in Penny MAC their was a lack of details.
They always stay in contact with us about everything. If we missed a call they made sure to leave an accurate message of what they needed. They also made sure that they were actually talking to the home owner.
The overall process seemed longer than expected when compared to friends starting the refinancing process at the same time, additionally although the rates were “good” and we went with because our existing loan was currently thru PennyMac thinking it would streamline the process and make easier and faster, in hindsight I probably could have gotten similar results and a lower rate by doing my due diligence and shopping around. I am not unhappy with the overall scenario, it just wasn’t optimal.
