Basically sloppy work. Had to have the company come back to fix problems by replacing flashings.
As a former customer, I contacted this company on 03-19-12 after strong gusts of wind blew shingles off of my roof and 4-5 inches of rain was forecaster for our area in several hours. I was told than an estimator would contact me in several days to schedule an appointment and would give an estimate of repair cost. Also, I was told they didn't make referrals to anyone who might could provide assistance or have any suggestions what I could do to protect my property. History: This company installed a new roof in 2007 on ... read more

In June 2011 a storm damaged the roof, I filed a claim and my insurance company paid me for a 20 warranty shingle. I contacted my insurance company and provided the invoice and a letter from Lon Smith Roofing stating that my roof had a 25 year warranty shingle. My insurance company, sent a second adjuster out to gauge the shingle theninformed me that my roof did not meet a 25 year warranty standard no matter what the roofing company charged me. I went back to Lon Smith Roofing and explained what my insurance company had sai... read more

VERY professions, but not snooty. In the past,. Lon Smith Roofing didn't have the best reputation. I'm pleased to say that has certainly changed as far as I'm concerned!

I received a phone call from Chris, a salesman, just hours after I called Lon Smith. Our old, VERY bad-shape roof needed replacing, hopefully by insurance. Chris showed up promptly at our scheduled time, inspected and marked the roof, and thought there would be no problem in having insurance replace it. Showed us samples and explained the diffe... read more

The salesman came to our home for an estimate and we discussed the work that was to be done. Our roof was 16 years old, and we were replacing it because of the age. We had no damage or leaks, and insurance would not be paying for it.

We discussed types and colors of shingles of course, placement of vents, and removal of the satellite dish. In particular, and written on the contract, was that they would inspect the decking while the shingles were off and let us know if work would be needed to en... read more

Not good. Don't use them unless you feel the communication is good . I left home for the day due to not being able to stand the noise of roofing and was shocked when came one about 5PM and my yard was littered with shingles and trach and trucks were blocking my doorway and garage door and no dumpster was brought in for old roofing materials. They were throwing it all in back of trucks. Very disgusting and unprofessional compared to how the same company and different crew did next door to me.

Lon Smith was recommended by my insurance agent. The guy that came out was very good. I agreed with him they would instal a new roof along with STAINLESS STEEL vents NOT Aluminum. I confirmed that over and over with three separate people including a very rude woman at their office on the phone. What happened? They installed Aluminum exactly what I told them over and over not to do. I then called them and they came out and installed the correct Stainless Steel ones. I inspected the quality and they had bent the vent screen up... read more

Overall, I got a new roof that looks just fine. I feel I paid more than I should have. The salesman promised my insurance company would pay for it and that I would know exactly who would pay what before I paid anything. That did not happen and I never saw the salesman again after I signed the contract. I feel he said anything he needed to say to get the contract and he was finished with me. The office held you to the letter of the contract despite what the salesman had stated. I will give Joanna in the office credit for bein... read more

Lon smith did a horrible job on my roof. Ridge caps kept blowing off during high winds for the next 5 years. Foot traffic from Lon smith, due to the repeated fixes they eventually performed, caused excessive wear on my shingles. Every time I had to call and report a problem, Lon Smith rudely informed me that the problem was mine, not theirs. After finally getting someone out to view the problem, Lon Smith realized it was due to faulty installation and fixed the problem. That is fixed the same problem 4 times over 5-6 years. ... read more
