As an update, our local vet accurately diagnosed our pet with Lymes disease, prescribed the proper medicines and she is cured. LIVS simply took our money, did many tests that reached absolutely no conclusion other than to do more tests and spend more money. Yes, we did get some $$ back from LIVS but it was a pittance compared to what they stole from us. Still a horrible place!

Business response:

Hi Alan, this matter was escalated to both the Manager of Customer Service and the Director of the hospital the day of your visit. Additionally, we were in constant communication with you days after and reached an agreement on 7/22/19. Thank you.

Despite having an 11:30 a.m. appointment with their oncologist (who by the way is only there one day a week), I waited OVER 3 1/2 hours to have my cat seen for a brief 10 minutes. To add insult to injury, they called me early that morning to see if I could get there sooner! This being my second visit (the first with a non-oncology vet), I expected that tests would be performed to determine whether my cat's lymphoma had spread. Instead he was given an antibiotic injection and I was told to bring him back in another week!... read more

Business response:

Hi Kathryn, thank you for this feedback. We apologize for your wait, especially since you were called to come in early. Our Oncology department does see an influx of patients, which can cause the department to run behind at times. We are working on correcting this issue and very much appreciate your feedback on this matter.

Considering the 2 lawsuits that are going on now against LIVS, I would seriously think twice about bringing my pet here. I have had a few encounters in this place and would never go back. Years ago it seemed better, talking over 10-15 years. Last visit was about 3 years ago for one of my dogs to have a myxoma removed and radiation treatment for several days after. My girl would not eat (which I brought them her food) and they did not seem to care, I brought my own food and went everyday to feed her. She had urine on her hind... read more

IMPORTANT. PLEASE READ. I am in shock and I truly believe my puppy would be alive if it wasn't for this place. Yesterday, My 6 month old puppy was very lethargic and I knew something was wrong. I brought him to my local vet who referred us to LIVS and called saying it was an URGENT emergency situation. We arrived at LIVS, waited nearly 3 hours as I watched my puppy get worse and worse. As he laid on me I felt his breathing stop, and I yelled to the front desk workers that I needed someone immediately. The women ... read more

My review was not posted on this hospitals website. To sum up, just stay away and far away from this place. Unethical, incompetent and awful place. No words to describe this "hospital."

this is the only time I have ever felt compelled to write a bad review for anything in my life. they are horrible. I brought my dog in for a surgical consultation, which I was told was needed for a CT scan. she needed the CT scan because of a newly diagnosed cancer. to sum it up: 1. I was there nearly 3 hours; 2. my records from the other vet werent there despite me calling multiple times before the appointment and being told they WERE there 3. they took my dog in the back to "examine her" and had her over 45 minutes de... read more

This place is terrible. I would never recommend bringing any type of animal here. They don't care about your pet, they only care about the money. My dog was almost dead. They kept him in the back for 3 hours and did NO test because "they needed the money first" I've been to many emergency vets and they figured out what was the problem before they needed the money right away. They made it seem like he was going to die and tried to get us to keep him there over night. I asked to see my dog to say goodbye BECAUSE they made it s... read more

Business response:

Hi Jackie, We're troubled to see the feedback regarding your recent ER visit, but thank you for taking the time to provide it. Conveying how concerned we were with the critical state your pet came to us in, our Dr. spent time with your family in person, and also on speakerphone, trying to provide recommendations and alternative treatment options available for your pet. As discussed throughout the visit, our hospital policy is to receive a confirmation from the pet owners before running any tests or diagnostics. Our Doctor ... read more

LIVS cares only about money, they dont care about your family pet. Wish I could give ZERO starts. We took our dog there a few months ago because she was limping and they wanted to do a Cat scan with contrast injection and wanted 10k for the surgery, i am a catscan technologist... theres absolutely no need for contrast injection its bone related not vascular. I asked the doctor about why the need for contrast and he didnt know what to say kept going off topic and never answered my question. We walked out right away after I re... read more

Regarding the comment made recently by LIVS, your doctor, Dr. Golden, was negligent. She prescribed 1 unit of insulin and prescribed needles that would ONLY administer 2 units of insulin -- DOUBLE the dosage of what the cat needed. I noticed this blunder made by Dr. Golden and then confirmed this in person with one of the LIVS vet technicians. The vet technician said that the needles were the wrong ones. They were not a different type with any safe range, but the complete wrong ones and if I had used them, I would have ... read more

Business response:

Dear Anonymous, We apologize for not meeting your expectation and hope that Athena is on the mend. During your discussion about your experience with our office manager, Lexi, it was noted that many medications have a safety range and that many medications can be administered safely in a variety of different syringes. We certainly understand your concern and would be happy to have further discussions with you. Thank you for your feedback!
