A lot of reviews mention that LIVS is money hungry. My complaint is that they're not very competent: from making appointments onward. I had made a follow up appointment for my cat to have an ultrasound and fine needle aspiration to determine if enlarged lymph nodes seen on an earlier CT scan were cancerous. Upon arrival I called to check in and the receptionist said "this is just for a follow-up, yes?" I said "no" and mentioned what the appointment was for. She replied that someone messed up the schedule, but not to worry, m... read more

This establishment is money hungry. They stole the last few days with my beloved dog so they can charge for overnight stays. It's a long story, but to try to recap: they "recommended" I continue to keep my dog there, even with no diagnosis after 4 different tests, so she stays on IV. She was on her last legs and persuaded me to keep her there. Of course, I thought it best to listen to medical advices, so I did. Worried and scared, picturing her alone, sick without her family, I called back and finally connected with a vet ... read more

If I had the opportunity to give no stars I would. Will never go back to this animal hospital again. Took my 8 year cat here because of a bladder stone that was blocked in her urethra last night. Spent 3 hours waiting for them to tell me she needed a foley inserted to see if they can push the stone back into her bladder and was told that it could possibly puncture through the wall. If that was to happen it would be emergent surgery costing almost $7,000. I went against medical advice and took my cat to her vet the next morni... read more

Business response:

Hi Roxanne, we appreciate you taking the time to review your experience at LIVS. We are sorry to hear that we were not able to meet your expectations during your cat's visit with us. Urinary tract blockages in cats are always a concern and considered an emergency. When we treat our patients, especially if surgery is recommended, it is our obligation to make any potential side effects or possible complications known ahead of time so that we can set realistic and honest expectations with our clients. If you should have any ot... read more

This is the worst place you can take you pet if they are feeling really sick. I call check in and they tell me 20 minutes. An hour goes by and nothing I call again and tell me that they are still working on the pets they took in which I understand. So 2 more hours past and I decide to call again. They literally told me they don't know how long they will take and if I wanna try a different place. But now I know not to go this place if my pet is ever in need of medical assistance again. STAY AWAY FIND ANOTHER PLACE THAT WOULD ... read more

Business response:

Hi Jason, Thank you for taking the time to review your experience at LIVS. We apologize for your extended wait time. We see patients based on medical severity followed by order of arrival. Unfortunately, in emergency medicine, the number of clients and severity of their pets' condition is very unpredictable. Our wait times have been especially variable due to the COVID-19 pandemic, as we have seen a sharp increase in emergency cases. We know that emergency visits are stressful and emotional, and we work extremely hard to ... read more

Should've read the reviews first. I came here for my guinea pig's eye. He was cold dismissive and uncaring. He mentioned that Hazelnut is probably in pain and then did not prescribe pain meds. Did not explain how to administer the eye drops. I spent $270 to be told the same thing my primary vet said just scarier. Dropped words like "rupture" and "face paralysis". He was on the phone with me for 4 minutes and was nasty the whole time. Absolutely useless. He thinks he is better than everyone else and that you're not worth his ... read more

Business response:

Hi Gabrielle, We appreciate you taking the time to review your visit at LIVS. Unfortunately, it appears that your review differs significantly from the experience that our team had during your visit as well as what is noted in our records. We have noted that Dr. Sapienza was cut off and hung up on while he was reviewing his exam observations during your appointment, so he was unable to discuss his complete findings and recommendations during the visit. Additionally, when our veterinary assistant came to return Hazelnut to y... read more

Reception or whoever answered phone was rude. I gave me name, my pets name, my appointment time. She just kept asking me why I was here and who am I seeing. Since when do I have to know every detail of the visit. The info I gave should have been enough to check me in. And all the info and transferred records should be attached to my account. Then running 15 minutes later than appointment and nearly ran out of gas cuz we're required to stay in our cars, cold, with engines on to keep us warm. Over three hours in my car while... read more

Business response:

Our team works to capture as many details as possible during check-in so that we can ensure that we are prepared and can efficiently start your pet's visit, especially with our curbside protocols. We apologize if this process was lengthy. Again, we appreciate your feedback as it helps us to set better expectations with our team and clients moving forward. I had an emergency, my 12 lb dog ate 4.75 ounces of mixed milk and dark chocolate. Instead of calming me and explaining your dog will be fine and we need to induce vomiting. They kept me waiting, asked questions about can they open a vein if needed , asked my zip code even though I told them I'm in the same town as their business. And by the way it's just a business. I truly don't think that care about the pet or pet owners. It's money to them. They insisted I call aspca or other animals poison control. For an hour on hold I... read more

Business response:

Hi Andrew, We appreciate you taking the time to review your experience at LIVS. We know that emergency visits are unexpected and very stressful. The questions asked during your visit are standard protocol, as our staff needs to ensure that we have proper approval from a pet owner before treating a patient, and we need to have approval for certain treatments, costs, etc. Again, we appreciate your feedback as it allows us to set better expectations and make improvements for the future. If you should have any questions about ... read more

Made an appt with dermatologist for our cat's skin infection. Spent $250 to see a dermatologist who wasn't actually a dermatologist but regular veterinarian who would "consult" with outside dermatologist within 24 hours. Still haven't heard anything and the front staff (who was incredibly rude!) informed me I won't until 3 days from now. You aren't able to go into office, because of covid, but the physician "treats" your animal before even talking with you. Completely mismanaged, horribly run and terribly overpriced. Go else... read more

On 1/2/2021 we brought our beloved Bruno (11 yrs. old Beagle) because of concerns that he was hiding under our dining room table and drinking lots of water. We got there at 10:30 am, called them and was told to wait outside, that someone will come to our car to get our Bruno. 10 minutes later a nurse(?) came and got him and told us that after evaluation the doctor will call us and also she will bring paperwork for us to sign. 11:44 doctor called and said that X-rays had to be taking and also Lab. work. We gave the OK. He sai... read more
