Get directionsBrought my dog in emergently because he had a partial airway obstruction. Never even made it inside because from the very beginning Rita, the night receptionist was nasty, rude and dismissive. If I'm telling you my dog is having trouble breathing, at the very least someone should take a quick look to make sure he isn't in any distress. Drove 10 minutes to West Hills Animal hospital instead and they took him in right away. Save yourself the trip.

My cat got released from there Saturday afternoon. I paid almost 4K for a paper sheet saying unfortunately there was no diagnostic about what my cat had, and also they wrote they can't predict if my cat would recover, and suggested to see my primary vet in about a week. I didn't see the vet any time while my cat was there. She entered Thursday and left Saturday! The only question I asked after seeing that paper sheet was if my cat could be with my other cat and dog. The gentleman who gave me my cat back and the non-diagnost... read more
I would give Long Island Veterinary specialist a ZERO STAR IF I COULD. The people that work here are liars and they don't actually care about your pet!! They only want money and will stick your dog in a cage for 6 hours and then tell you she's fine without looking at the blood work or X-ray thoroughly. I spent $900 for Dr.Kramer to give my dog the wrong diagnosis and wrong medications. My dog suffered for days and is in critical condition because of her negligence. So now, I have to spend 5k to have emergency surgery all bec... read more
If I can give zero stars it would be too many I brought my dog to have x-rays for a breathing issues. After paying the 600 some odd dollars a prescription was given to me for controlled substance that he had to take. I brought it to CVS and they told me it was unacceptable due to the fact that the date was altered and they wrote 3 refills on it (A veterinarian or even a vet tech should know better) when I called them last Saturday to get a corrected they told me someone would call me back I called two more times on Saturd... read more
We took our Basset Hound to LIVS for three emergencies and the clinical staff was more than amazing in helping our dog recover from all three incidents. However, the discharge this time was handled very unprofessionally by a tech who had no idea what the medications she was giving us were for. I asked for a doctor; she said none were available without checking. Also if you need anything after your pet is discharged, forget it! You can call and call to no avail. You have to be very persistent and make many calls before you ge... read more
This place is horrible, if you have a sick pet. DO NOT TAKE THEM HERE. I waited outside for almost 8 hrs. They had my dying cat for over 5 hrs. ( She was absolutely miserable) When they finally did the ultrasound, and they told me she was riddled with masses in the Pancreas. It took them another 45 minutes for me to see her. The last moments of her life were horrible, she was saturated in urine, she stunk, they didn't even have the courtesy to wipe her before she was leaving this earth. They have no empathy or sympathy at al... read more
On 7/12, my 18 year old daughter took her 2 1/2 year old cat to this facility because the cat threw up several times and had diarrhea with blood in the diarrhea. I was away so my sister took her. Due to COVID-19, they were unable to go inside. They took "Luna" in and did the following: emergency consultation fee of $67.00; blood work @ $234.00; 2 xrays at $260.00, then an additional $185.00 for the doctor to read them; 2 medical waste charges at @ $19.00/each; $63.00 in fluids due to dehydration; 1 charge @ 11.50 and another... read more
I have had 2 terrible experiences with LIVS in the past 4 months. The most recent was on 7/14, I brought my 10 y/o shorkie in for an inflammatory airway/cough that kept happening over and over for several hours. I arrived at 10:20p and waited in the car for over an hr before they took him in when there was only 2 others cars in the parking lot. Another hour later the "Dr." calls to tell me they want to do a chest X-ray, bloodwork, and a biopsy of his lymph node in his leg , she reported no physical exam findings except a swo... read more
No organization is perfect, and LIVS on several occasions has provided our dog with top notch care and kindness... and I will always be grateful for that. However, our girl is approaching the end of her journey, so I emailed to see what the policy would be during this pandemic about being with her. I was surprised to never hear back. I also emailed our regular vet, who took time to CALL back the same day, and make several suggestions. It was a kind and professional thing to do. Does LIVS provide excellent care? Absolutely... read more
