We went to Luce for my, my husband's, my daughter's, and my sister-in-law's birthday celebration. This mod Italian restaurant was quiet with decent background music and perfect for a celebration where we could talk to each other without yelling. The servers were great, and the atmosphere was chic but not uncomfortably mod for us. And the food was amazing! This ain't your Olive Garden Italian. Homemade cannoli and THREE kinds of homemade gnocchi! I'll be going agin for every birthday! :)
For Italian food in San Antonio this is about the best I have found. The hand made gnocchi were incredible, great salads, and the Oso Buco was top notch. the wine list is mostly Italian, but the chef's recommendations satisfied our lack of knowledge about Italian wines. Highly recommend this restaurant for great food, good service.
I read a review on the local paper's Web site and decided to give it a try. We started off with the polpette, arancini and carpaccio. The polpette were really good; two large meatballs in marinara sauce. The secret of the arancini is a piece of mozzarella in the middle of the very good fried risotto balls served with a bolognese sauce. The carpaccio was nothing special. As usual the food and service were top notch. Our server, Sylvia was very friendly and efficient.
Absolutely loved it! Owner came and talked with each table and personally welcomed us to his restaurant. We were visiting the area and found Luce on Open Table. The rice balls are to die for! We ordered appetizers, salad, and dessert, which we split then each ordered an entree. More than enough food and everything was delicious - will definitely come back next time we are in the area!
Always have a good meal here, visited several times, the Australial Lamb Chops are superb. My family loves eating at Luce
