Glad I tried it but won't be going back. My appointment started fifteen minutes late and ran a half hour over the length stated when I booked it, all to then have to blow dry your own hair (or wait for a blowout). The gloss made my hair shinier but did not have a noticeable impact on tone - the goal was to neutralize brass and go ashier but my hair was just a bit darker with a red tint. I am so bummed that i used this haircolor.You could not pay me ever to use this haircolor!.I had been using one from Sallys beauty supply called ion that was a light neutral brown with very very little red in it but because it faded faster than i liked i decided to give madison a try....The gal assured me there was no red in this..Well i found out that was not true so i called and they sent me a new box free of a neutral brown and said there would be NO red overtones and once again there was...I have been using color myself ... read more

I've been coloring my hair for 30 years. I have brown hair and it's just past shoulder length and about 70% gray only around my face. It's thick and wavy. I went to Madison and Reed Color Bar for a root touch up. The colorist I had picked a shade that I thought was too dark. I told her I did not want my hair to come out dark and looking black.
