I've been getting my hair dyed here for over a year. The color looks great but their scheduling system blows. They are always running late and the colorists are running from client to client. I'm sure it makes them feel stressed and pressured to rush. No one wants that when you are getting your hair dyed. Just book longer appointments. I'd rather know that I will be seen on time and get the attention I want rather than knowing the colorist is stressed because the next client is staring at them from the couches.

Overall bad from beginning to end...I have usually had a positive experience but my last time the colorist went up to the wrong person to talk about my appointment and was called out by receptionist walking me in. She came up to me at that point and did not even introduce herself. I apparently inconvenienced her by not bring the wrong client that she was speaking to. this is the second time I went to Madison reed. the first time they made my roots like black, way darker than my hair, this time after cancelling my first apt last second, they made my roots red when I have brown hair, I went in to complain after 2 weeks of getting it done as I had it with friends telling me why do my roots look this way, and I spoke to a manager there who said they'd get back to me and they never did. I would avoid.

I have been going for a few months now. I have very few greys. Not enough to color my hair but they are in the front and when I put my hair up they show and they bother me. I've been getting the Root Reboot. It's perfect for the 10 greys I have on my head. Unfortunately they will not be offering this service anymore. You can only do it at home by urself and I've read reviews that say it gets pretty messy. 6:30 appointment. At 6:45 I asked the front desk person about my stylist (it was not busy). The stylist looked up from the sink where he was washing someone's hair- "Oh, I'm finished...." (he wasn't). Waited another 7 minutes before he came over. Briefest of conversations before he finally went back to mix my color. Started applying at 7:10 (this is now a full 40 minutes before my appointment was scheduled to begin). I really want to love this place. The quality of the color is good. They don't use harsh chemicals. When you are with a colorist, they seem quite good and competent and friendly. But overall the place lacks a warmth that actually makes you feel like no one really cares that you are there which makes you wonder if they care how your hair looks when you leave. I have come often and waited at the entrance to be helped and there are 10 people working in the back and no one to help me. No one answers the phone when you call.... read more

Great idea that might have worked with better implementation. I could not believe how bad my experience and results have turned out. The good thing hair can grow out, his awful color hopefully washes off, eventually. In the meanwhile I have to cancel all my plans that involve me been seen for at least a week. If anyone knows a product to wash off unwanted hair color faster, please recommend me. And stay away from MadisonReed.

Came here during Yelp Elite week. I have to say the girl who made the appointment and the girl who did my hair was super nice. Other than that it was a waste of my time to have gone there to have my hair done. When I made the reservation, they didn't told me the limitations of their color service. It didn't say it on their website either. Apparently, they cannot color my roots unless it's already gray (or have very light color pigments on it). I tried Madison Reed Color Bar for about a year. I was initially so excited about the affordability! I had been home dying my hair black for 9 years and will such a simple application, I could never stomach spending money on a salon. Since I first started going, the pricing has increased and payoff has faded... literally. My hair fades SO fast with this dye and on brassy/red spectrum which never happened to me with other dyes.
