they don't do highlights a stylist came out acted condescending and tried to tell me they don't use "ammonia"or do light blonde. keep in mind my hair is already highlighted level 8 and just needed a touch up. their attitude sucks and I went to a real salon where they said it's total BS and I just needed a highlight touch up don't waste your time or money, they have no idea what they are doing here.

This is for the Columbus Ave location but it's not listed on Yelp just yet. I was SO excited to walk in and talk to someone about getting my hair colored there and buy a bunch of stuff for my mom too! I stood there 5 minutes, and there was no one at a desk. DO NOT GO HERE! I scheduled partial highlights service, which was supposed to be no more than 2 hours and I ended up staying over 4 hours bec the colorist couldn't get the color right. Initially, my hair turned out two different colors - red highlights at the top and blonde highlights (from my old balayage) at the bottom and I was literally in tears when I saw my hair bec. it looked horrible beyond belief. Service was awful at this salon. No one was around, people who paid for blow outs just left or blew out their own hair because the staff couldn't be found or bothered. Terrible experience will never go back. Do not recommend.

Won't be back-terrible service. Look out for the hair washer-you'll get attitude and all around unprofessional service. The blow out station is filthy. Never again. Wish I had re-visited the reviews before coming back.
Had my first ever hair dying done here on Tuesday and it was terribly done. I wanted to cover grays and was told to get all over color. My hair is so dry and damaged now and way too dark, it just looks so flat. Having never done this before I didn't really know what was supposed to happen. After 2 days and a wash my hair still reeks of chemicals and the color is coming off on clothing. Made an appointment in an emergency situation. Terrible experience. My color was left on too long. The service was bad. Did not receive the color I asked for and now my hair too dark.

Selecting your color is challenging. The pictures they have just don't help and the stylist seemed uncertain about the proper match and made it more confusing. They need hair swatches for customers and to identify clearly to the customer (especially when they state that they want the roots to blend in vs look like a bad home hair job) the set of color options that are suitable to their color. Skip the balayage at the Color Bar. Stick to root touch up. I'm not totally understanding their business model. I actually color my own hair with their products and made an appointment so I could see how their colorist applied the balayage to learn how to do it myself. First off, there are no mirrors at the stations so you can't see what's being done. Then you get handed off from person to person. Like an assembly line.
