My experience in this location has been very positive, but unfortunately I had to terminate my Limitless Pro membership with Madison Reed. My negative review is about the company's claim that it's cruelty free. When a large business uses any form of animal by-product in their product, it is highly unlikely that it is cruelty free. They use lanolin in their dyes and only vaguely explain, "the wool we use for our Keratin is sustainable and comes from healthy herds of sheep during a routine and humane shearing process." I have blonde hair that has bleached out from the sun and salt water. I went into Madison Reed and asked to have it toned down one shade. I should've known after she put the color on in about 20 minutes she said well I hope you're prepared for dark hair. She basically made my hair black .....from a sunlit blonde. Now I have an appointment tomorrow at another salon for full head of highlights to try and break up the black color . Rude unhappy employees with attitudes. The whole vibe is not pleasant at all and could not wait to get out of this place after my sloppy root touch up that didn't apply color completely... Hispanic lady who addresses me with "maaaam" while talking to me rudely about how SHE does things when applying color etc. I was simply asking a question, if you don't like conversing with people politely then find a job where you don't have to worry about that! was my first time here and it will be my last to any Madison Reed.

I purchased the monthly roots package because I have a shoulder problem and it's difficult to do my own color. The color itself is fine, not amazing, but average. You will probably be offered tea or water at the beginning of your appointment. The issue is that the employees in Long Beach really don't give a $#! about the customers. They don't pay attention or ask customers if they are comfortable. They make assumptions that all customers are comfortable with zero social distancing. I have been to the salon in the Seattle area and had a good experience. In the last six months it appears that price has doubled. They offer nothing but slapping color on your head and washing your hair. For $110 to start. I asked for Some color advice, because I wanted to make a change. Will never go to this Hair Color Bar due to hearing the advertisement on KFI over and over and over again. It has gotten so bad, I just turn the radio off for 5 min so I do not have to hear that lady over and over and over again. Sometimes less is more. I probably would have tried the place out if the damn commercial was not shoved down my throat!!!

Do not go here if you want pretty hair. I asked for balayage she gave me highlights. She then used color instead of toner on my overly bleached strands (not realizing how quickly my color lifts). I was switched off to someone else who left color on my neck which transferred to my pillows that night. To Recify this they comp'd my next visit. They screwed up my color with roots too dark and covered the highlights (Again, I was switched off mid appointment and was left with the shampoo lady) )Now1/2 my head is dark and the bot... read more

I usually don't leave reviews but after sitting with it for a few days I decided I should. Before coming here, I had never touched my hair in any way, no bleach, color, highlights, anything.
