oh this place is HORRIBLE! i came today to get my roots done AND start a membership since it kept glitching online. there is absolutely NO parking around this area -- i drove around 6 times looking for a spot to open up, and nothing, so i ended up paying $7 for parking in a lot, and when i got there i was THREE MINUTES past the cut off and they said they only give a 10 minute grace period and could not accommodate me! i am livid to say the least. i am SO beyond glad that i did not sign up for a membership here... the Univers... read more

This was by far the worst salon experience I've ever had! I went in for highlights and ended up with thick, gray-looking streaks that were placed completely wrong and looked sloppy. The male stylist seemed so unprofessional that I honestly wondered if he was drunk. The result was a total disaster, and I had to find another salon immediately just to save my hair. Thankfully, I did -- but I will never set foot in this place again!

I've been here three times and each time there is only been one person working. The one person has to check people in, color hair, wash hair and then style it. You can imagine there are a lot of times the client has to wait for the one person that works there. Forget about being offered a cup of water. The vibe is awful! Get more help! Madison Reed on 3rd street has the unfriendliest staff working there. Madison Reed itself is a great concept and I have been using it for about a year now. The way they spoke to me when I realized that they didn't schedule a blow out as part of my appointment (ive been going there every month for a year) was so appaling. No, I am so sorry - let's try to accomodate you - she said "go next door to dry bar we are understaffed." When I replied but this is why I have a membership - she answered me " so cancel it". DONT COME HERE FOR BLONDE ROOT TOUCHUPS!! I scheduled an appointment as a bleach blonde for my dark roots to be touched up on the website (booked under "root touchup") and was turned away when I went in because they "don't do bleach root touchups, only darker roots." THAT NEEDS TO BE MENTIONED ON WEBSITE. Seeing as most women get their roots lightened for blonde looks, I don't know why they don't offer that service. I was excited to try Madison Reed yesterday! They advertised on Instagram touting salon hair dying for a fraction of the price. Why wouldn't I want to try that? I had an appointment at 5pm on a Friday and walked in, ungreeted. They have a huge screen that says check in here, so i walked up to it and tried to press to check in but that didn't work. My experience was terrible. I wasted my time booking an appointment and traveling to this location, only to be refused service because I have black hair and was told to go to another salon. If you can't accommodate all hair colors, you might as well remove the 'all-over color' option.

Very poor customer service from the beginning to the end. Instead of feeling welcome I felt very unhappy with the negative energy everyone had. Gabby approached me saying: We can't do your treatment today - WE DON'T HAVE THE PRODUCT FOR YOUR HAIR TREATMENT TODAY?? Really??
