I come here with friends who love this place, and while I like it, I can't really see what everyone else raves about. I do like the atmosphere though. It's generally very busy but it's not too...

Really amazing Burmese food. The Mandalay Special Noodle was delicious. This apparently is the slightly less popular alternative to Burma superstar. We made a reservation but they didn't seat us until almost an hour after. Coming in small groups is advised. Lots of vegetarian options.

Excellent little gem Went to Mandalay on a last minute date night, and was thoroughly impressed with the impeccable service and delicious authentic Burmese food. The owner and servers were attentive, informative, relaxed and extremely thorough in their service, which really helped the whole experience. We had the tea-leaf salad; delicious with a bit of added lettuce to break up the amazing intense...

Skip the road, Take the Bus to Mandalay Mandalay is conveniently on the #1 bus line in San Francisco, easily accessible from the main tourist areas (if you are patient) and convenient to where my wife and I live as well. We went there on a Friday evening. It was packed at 6:30 PM with customers waiting in line, which says something about just how popular it is....
