First time Brother user and It's great!! Compared to older HP 8600 pro officejet printer this Brother is so much quieter and faster. It runs so smoothly. There were things on my old HP that I never could get it to work and this one just runs everything correctly. No problems here.
Nothing flashy, but does all its jobs very well I hesitated on buying this because several reviews mentioned the printer dropping out of the network. So far, no problems like that. In fact, it is quick to come out of sleep and print from any source anywhere in the building. I gave up on HP printers a long time ago because there were always software problems. As good as advertised! This was the largest inkjet I've ever set up. It is unlike any other ink jet. It is far less fussy than the photo/art quality inkjets I've run from Epson and Canon, but much more robust than the typical home inkjet. The included instructions are easy to follow and help to get you up and going. Since it is so heavy, there is a special way to remove the printer from the box. Great printer... Super fast and printing is crisp. Tough to tell the difference with a laser printer to be honest. Love that it does 11" x 17".
Best printer I ever had so far. Fast scan and print. Love the double sided print and scan as well as the 11x17 flatbed for larger items. It is a bit large and heavy, so it's not quite a desktop, but well worth it if you need the 11x17. Have not had it long enough to confirm costs for ink, but it is supposed to n be lower cost than laser. The printed copy may be highlighted with very little smearing - a good feature for our office as we print and sometimes need to highlight after printing.
