Convenient, cost efficient and wireless This printer is much larger and heavier than my HP laser printer. Though it's inkjet, it is wireless and has a flatbed scanner swell. I'm using it for our home office and have yet to see if the ink cartridges last as long as stated. If so, it'll overcome the main disadvantage of inkjet printers, which is the cost of the ink refills. Great printer Beautiful professional quality printer makes high quality copies.
Where do I even start? My loyalty to Brother printers goes back over 10 years. I once got a fax machine from them that was missing the curly phone rec. cord. I called them, it wasnt a big deal because I was not planning to use my fax machine at a phone. The next day the was an over night Fed Ex package on my door step. This printer seems to be the holly grail of printers, it has a very high cap, low price on ink, single pass duplex scanning, easy set up, works well with my android smart phone. This is the best and fastest printer I've ever owned, but the Fax Receive function limited for my use. Scanned several documents and pictures from three computers (wi-fi) using the Macs' Scanner app included in System Preferences. Worked flawlessly. Well designed and feature rich printer. I recommend it. I’m really impressed with this printer so far. This is the first time I’ve owned anything made by Brother, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. I’d heard the name, of course, but my prior printers have all been made by HP or Epson. (The color printer I replaced this one with was an Epson WF-3520, so many of my impressions will based on comparisons to that machine. It has served us well for the last couple years.) After 2 years of having it, the ink absorber was full and the printer would not allow printing anymore. I have never heard of an ink absorber with any other brand of printers, so I am not sure if that is specific to Brother or not. The printer was still under warranty. No good from the get-go Had Brother MFC's for many years with no problems. This one failed within 6 months to print documents legibly with many vertical lines and areas of unreadable print. Machine could not even recognize when a new full cartridge was inserted even when done with machine off as advised. Paid for a repairman to come four times over next two years, Brother certified repair folk and they could not fix it even while on the phone with Brother! I will not purchase another Brother MFC machine, ever.
I just can't I took on the task of finding a new printer for our office. We had always an HP, but I convinced everyone that this would be a huge upgrade for us. WRONG. It prints very slow, which I could understand if the print quality was decent, but the print quality is subpar if that. Scanning only works half the time, sometimes it just pauses in the middle and doesn't send. At the moment, I have a paper jam in the back of the printer.
